Phil Emery was the stumper as I recall, maybe he played in both in the off chance when Healy was injured, remembering AC Gilchrist could not get a game for NSW
the article I read said Emery was called into the main team to replace Healy for 1 game. (can't recall if this was injury or rested)

Healy never rested, I got to go to one of their training sessions with some net bowlers during the series, his fingers were mangled, I got to do a fair bit of keeping as a result but he played with compound fractures which is why Phil Emery only ever got the one test

he did have fingers like Twisties as the 12th Man said

Future bowling attack for me is Morris, Richardson and Buckingham with Murphy the spinner. Not sure it’s overly strong, and also not sure the batting is entirely exciting with what’s coming through… enjoy it while it lasts!

We've known for years that the reliance upon T20 to pay the bills was always going to create a paucity of Test class players, so there's no point complaining about it now that it's about to materialize. Sorry to say, I don't think the green baggy will ever carry the prestige it once did.

Yes, but isn't that the same for every nation?

I'm not so convinced about this.

Everyone in the team prioritises test cricket and puts it up as no.1. Starc has given up t20 crickets for years stating as much, Cummins also has put off t20 next yr. Even guys like Zampa & Maxwell who are t20 mercenaries talk about how much they'd love to wear the baggy green again/earn one.

Definitely still that way in the current generation, but all these guys grew up with test cricket and barely any t20.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the next generation who are growing up in an era where at least money/career wise, t20s have more appeal and they’ve grown up with t20s shoved down their throat everywhere they look.

It’s hard to say because for my self I just cannot see how anyone could possibly enjoy t20s over tests but I guess that’s because like those guys you mentioned I’ve grown up with test cricket as king.

Emery played a game for Australia in the series and Atkinson played one for Aus A - they recently played the series on the cricket gold channel.

There were a few players that went up and down between the two teams

we were trying to figure out if Healy was injured which caused this. the movement of players between the 2 squads was a farce by the end.

Healy had a crook finger, the Australia side has to be the best, it caused a lot of waves and Tubby Taylor hated it because everyone barracked for the A side. Reiffel got caught in no man’s land for a few games

Adelaide game felt like everyone was supporting the A's.

Phil Emery played a game for Australia that series, and then in the final was bowled by David Boon.

Talk about going from the sublime to the ridiculous.

Reifell was in good form for Aus A so they made him 12th for Aus in the finals. Merv got injured in the final qualifying match so the A's lost their opening bowlers for the finals

Must be strong to have Peake outside the squad. He's a gun.
