Are the AUS a matches televised ??
Dont know. Be a bummer if they werent. I had Kayo for the Windies series but cancelled it at its end. May regret that.
Does anyone know what Cal Vidler has been up to since the end of the shield season. I am happy to see him named in the one-day squad. Just curious if hes been playing elsewhere or taking some time off.
Cant help. May have been playing English League cricket, be smart if he had. Mitchell Owen carved up Pom red and white ball bowlers in the Lancashire League in '23/24. Now look where he is.

Pretty sure he has been training in Brisbane with the Qld Bulls as far as I know; he is in the Valley squad for the KFC T20 Max that gets going next week so expect to see him bowling with the white ball in those games.

Quite a few NextGen players in action in NT Strike League and Brisbane's KFC T20 Max comp that starts this week.

T20 Max squads are here - https://www.qldcricket.com.au/news/4343363/t20-max-ready-to-launch?

Will be cool to see Josh Brown, Chris Lynn, Matt Renshaw in action on Friday night at Nundah - that game is on 7plus Sport.

First matches done and dusted with some big performances.

Toombul 5/271, Lachie Hearne 100(44), Matt Renshaw 98no (39), Nikhil Chaudhary 2-32 def Norths 8/183, Cameron Hemp 70 (35), Nikhil Chaudhary 31 (12), Preston White 2/27

Gold Coast 8/211, Callum Taylor 50 (35), Brett Hampton 30 (14), Charlie Lachmund 3/42 def Ipswich 9/189, Adrian Lascu 77 (40), Harry Sheppard 44 (34), Cody Reynolds 3/31

Impressed with what I saw of Charlie Lachmund who is in the Aus u19 squad for next month's matches against India u19. Hard to tell from the stream but looked comfortably up around the 140k mark to me, lovely bowling action too.

I think we might see Lachie Hearne have a bit of a breakout season this season. Massive amounts of premier cricket and 2nd XI runs last season with the odd good performance across both formats for the Bulls last year but wasn't particularly consistent. Feel like he might be have a pretty high ceiling that he is pushing toward

Watched Callum Vidler bowl in person for the first time for Valleys the other night. Jesus he is absolutely lightning quick, took the wickets of Josh Brown and Nikhil Chaudhary and hit a few lads in the head for good measure. Hope the injury gods treat him nicely, the rawest and most exciting young quick we have had come through since young Patty Cummins.

Couple pretty promising left armers playing in the Max too which is good to see. Ollie Patterson and Charlie Thomas definitely look like ones to keep an eye on.

Is there a more iconic duo in Aussie sport than young Aussie fast bowlers and injuries?
Straker is the only one still standing from the 4 u19 quicks that won the World Cup last year. Vidler, Beardman and Anderson all down right now. Oddly enough, of the 4 of them I have always though that Straker had the most concerning bowling action of them all as far as potential injury went, but he seems to be the most durable so far.

The best way to avoid injury is to never train or play.

The second best way is to train and play all the time.
Bowling high 120s low 130s also helps

Beyond that is pushing your luck

I can't decide whether it's going to be outrageously funny or incredibly disheartening when McDonald inevitably looks at whatever form Konstas, Weatherald, Kellaway et al put up and just slots Marnus back in to open.
Marnus made a ton today and he still averages 46 in test cricket with 11 tons

I don't think it's disheartening at all seeing players with a chance at the test team score runs....

its good for Aussie cricket
