steven :thumbsu:

geary not best 22
armo could be wearing other colours
newness needs to work on his own game
On field he plays the way a captain should but I don't think his personality is a good match. He wasn't selected by the players for the leadership group and has always been a quiet guy. Seems like a good lad but he's just too introverted to be the face of the club to the media and our outspoken leader on the ground. Some players are just like that, even Harvey, who was undoubtedly one of the most professional leaders the Saints have ever had, only captained to side for a couple years because he wasn't really "that guy".

Newnes for me. He still has to improve his game so I guess we'll see where he's at by the end of the season but he has responded well to everything thrown at him thus far. Seems like a consummate professional, has the respect of the players and is a smart, well spoken and unassuming guy.

Jack S is a lovely guy but he is not a captain. Jack N / Luke D are both captain material. Newnes has the game, is in the leadership group, and is a young up and coming player. I'd like Newnes to be captain from next year

Smokey. 3 years time.

We can have captain and a vice captain, just like cricket.

Captain - Armo
Vice Captain - Newnes.

2017 - Rooey, Armo and Newnes co-captain
2018 - Armo and Newnes co-captain
2019 - Newnes captain

I'd love for Rooey to break Kernahan's games captained record next year, but we need to look to the future as well. Armo co-captains to take a bit of the heat of Newnes.
