Read somewhere that Choco said as many as six would be out if we lose this week (could be wrong) so may as well start a thread for this.......

Motlop (I defended him about 3-4 weeks ago, but my opinion is fast changing)
Dew (One of my All-time favourites, but so out of form it aint funny - coupla weeks getting his head back in the game at the Dogs could be the best thing for him)
Mahoney (Hasn't done much since the six goals, and with White now the preferred Forward at the moment - a week or so in the reserves wouldn't hurt)
Cassisi (Form and injury)
Bishop (Goes without saying)
Thurstans (Possibly not next game, but as soon as Brogan comes back)

Assuming both Walsh and Cassisi miss:

OUT: Motlop, Walsh, Cassisi,
IN: Chaplin, Symes, Thomas

If Walsh stays in id drop Dew. Cassisi should go regardless

Add Tredrea to the list. His not at all fit and not showing the least of onfield leadership.

I didn't want to say this, but I at least partly agree. He's still showing touches of brilliance but he isn't lifting the team as he used to.

I havent got a problem with it at all and Chocco shouldn't either. We have won without him before. It's not going to happen though. Can you honestly see Chocco telling Tredders he might have to miss this week. No.

The outs will be:

Cassisi (injured)
Surjan
Thurstans

We need a scapegoat.

Choco, as usual, will choose Thurstans.

Toby, as usual, will get downhearted and frustrated and play rubbish in the SANFL.

My outs:

Bishop - no explanation needed. To go to the SANFL and never play or PAFC again.

Cassisi - He was never going to be a rolls royce midfielder. What he lacked in talent he made up with desperation and hard work hard running etc. He has gone into a comfort zone now, and isn't doing those one percenters. Needs a rocket.

Kane Cornes - omit him, and bring him back as an emergency at the last minute. Too talented a player to drop in our current situation. However it would be a wake up call for him. Or for choco to tell him that if he doesn't start playing like the old kane, he would go back to the SANFL. See cassisi

Pettigrew - Just can't seem to find the ball. 6 possessions today. Looks good in the forward line more than defence but still not the Pettigrew of last year.

Motlop - I've been defending him all season, but the buck stops here. Doesn't have the heart of a player of the PAFC. Needs a rocket, and needs to find some form.

IN:

Chaplin - Had a poor start to the season, but we know he can play, and has never stopped trying.

Shattock - not the most skilled player on our list, and not a spring chicken either, but one thing he has is heart. His attack on the ball, willingness to put the body on the line etc. is what we are lacking. Didn't have too bad a game last week.

Symes - to continue where he left off from before the injury

Ebert - to be played in the midfield for 4 quarters. Regardless of how bad he goes, leave him there. Lets see what he's made of

Out Thurstans In Willits for a start.

Casissi out, Ebert in is possible. The rest, well who TF knows what's going on at Alberton?

I'll be the first to admit i hate thurstans, i have NEVER rated him as a player. BUt his game today wasn't too shabby at all. His biggest asset is his flexibility. He also seems to have an uncanny knack of somehow being in the right spot at the right time, and for the ball to just fall into his arms.

From the absolute on-field disorganisation witnessed today I seriously doubt if a fistful of changes is going to make much difference. By all means do it, but I won't be holding my breath that it will change the flow of the current right now. AT least some young guys will get a taste.

PS long range forecast for next Sunday is 14 degrees and rain. Should make for quite a spectacle ...

Bishop out, Chaplin in
Walsh out, Lower in
Cassisi out, Thomas in
Dew out, Thomson in
Kingsley out, Ebert in
Thurstans out, Deluca in

The only reason I have Motlop still in is because next week will be wet and low-skill anyway, so we might as well give him one last go.

Two questions Porthos:
No room for Willits?
Has Motlop's invisibility earned him another game?

I see my second question has been answered.

Tredrea is not right, but is insisting he plays. Choco said as much when questioned in the post-match.

Damn those knees.

Wet weather has me leery of picking him, as much as I'd love to see him go toe-to-toe with J. Brown. Make him my first emergency though.

Also I want to see Ezard get a run soon, but am not sure how to work him in. Probably someone else will make a vacancy available next week.

play the kids and let them sink or swim...there's no future in the hacks running around out there at the moment basking in past glories, let's find out about our depth now!!!

I think your comments are a very very sad indictment of where our footy club unfortunately is at present.

When we have a guy play as a key-forward, given good gametime and he has 5 kicks for the day and 1 goal is considered not too shabby.:(

I know you blokes would know better about Motlop but would it be worth slotting him in a position where he can find the ball more often rather than FF of the bench, it may throw im into some form once he starts touchin the footy???? I watched fair bit of the game today n if port has been playing like that i dont see how hes gona get any delivery to him really but thats comin from a melbourne suppotert wat do u all think?

He played his second half minutes in defence and made some very average efforts at spoiling his opponent.

The guy looks like one big frizzy-haired sulker.
It is as though he blames everyone around him for the fact that his form s**ks and so he wants us to all know that he doesn't give a damn about how badly he is playing.

He looks so disinterested. I am amazed Williams would let him get away with it - it has been the same for at least 4 of the seven rounds so far.
