I Can See The Roos Falling. Of The 13 Wins They Had This Year, 6 Of Them Were Against The Bottom 3 Sides (Pies, Hawks, Blues) And Not One Of Those Wins Was A Demolition, Take Those Away And They Woulda Finished Nowhere Near 5th, It's Luck Of The Draw And I Believe In '06 The Roos Will Finally Be Exploited.

They beat the premiers. :)

If Western Bulldogs win the 06 Grand Final im putting 10,000$ on Chris Grant to win the 07 Coleman
If we won the flag next year, Chris Grant would retire and go out on top.

Put money on Darcy!!!!!! He has to be some sort of chance.

I will be putting a cool $10 on Darcy, don't you worry about that.

Strangely, the Bulldogs are at $11 for the Wooden Spoon (fifth favourite). Where is the logic in that?

centrebet must be having a bit eachway!!! :D

It just goes to show how much we have improved in 12 months. At the start of the year we were $81 for the 05 flag.

What odds would Darce be for the Colemen?

The Kangaroos are never rated are they?

Value at $41

We are usually at long odds, has nothing to do with expectation and more to do with how many idiot supporters you have that are prepared to waste a lot of money 6 months before the season even starts.

I'll give the same warning to Dogs supporters as I gave to Carlton supporters this time last year. Do not set your sights too high because there will be 15 clubs analysing Bulldogs tapes over the pre-season and finding weaknesses to exploit on every young kid that has really popped up this year.

If they achieve the same level of success or more in 2006 it would be a very good effort. Most kids surge forward, are exposed and go backwards for a year or two before they overcome their weaknesses and then rise to a new level or die out of the game.

I really hope the dogs go forwards in 2006 but I would expect some of the players to be exposed in 2006 and for them to struggle to achieve the same kind of success. Mind you, if other players step up and fill the void then they can do anything... I just wouldn't be putting my money down on a hope.

It is all about how much money people bet for the different positions, has nothing to do with expectation.

If I was to place a $10 million dollar bet for the roos to win the flag next year at $41 our odds would go into single digits. Does it mean we are going to win the flag next year? Nope. :p

Yeah, I realise that, but the Bulldogs started at $11, meaning there had been no previous outlay on them and the opened at $11.

I don't think anyone's saying it's likely, but it is possible. A poor start to the year with all the old guys having sh*t years, leading to the young blokes losing morale could very easily mean a very poor season.

Just ask Carlton supporters whether they thought they were a ghost's chance in hell of winning the spoon this time last year after a promising season.

Is a combination of expectation and to a much lesser extent initially, the possible weight of money. A bookie is not going to worry about laying a team at $10 if that is their real chances. The weight of money is going to make then rethink whether it is logically based and if so maybe drop them a couple of points. But they are not going to come in to say $4 just because of weight of money alone. In other words the initial markets are very much expectation.

Freo are the value bet. Big odds for a team that has many good players.
But then again with their off field admin they should be 200/1.
