I finished playing in the 15s wafl championship on friday and some good players for East Perth (my team) Josh Andrews Someone Martin and an all australian nick name Monty.

According to Mark Merenda the top player in WA for 15s is Shaun Colbung apparentlley great player did not play in carnival because he had played like 40 games for the year, was all australian at the 15s national carnival.

so there is some for in a long time.

No not his Dad but I will admit I know them both very well, both top people.

Yea I did tee off a bit hard at you,

cheers.

Anthony Dezwart from Victoria will get drafted next year he is very much like Andrew Embley.

Monocle are you are Greensborough person? If you are how do you rate Jackson & Lynch? The games I have seen Lynch play he has played like an absolute dog, very soft but know he is rated highly at Boro. Jackson I've seen play some beauties but went missing in this years Grand Final.

Yes I am.

Jackson: rate highly and agree GF was a shocker the worst he has played for two years. He wont use this as an excuse but he had not been 100% fit for six weeks prior .He focused on, and put in a concerted effort , to get to the carnival representing Vic Metro and I believe he was spent come GF day it was a anti climax to his season.
Others obviously rate him otherwise he would not have gone AA two years in a row. Now that he has won a AIS scholarship the real hard work is ahead of him .
Ryans biggest challenge is that unless he grows 7-8 cm he wont be a KPP therefore he has 2 develope as a medium forward/ backman. Whilst this is very attainable Ryan must develope this side of his game. He has a great work ethic. Where do think he will end up: best suited IMO as a hbf if he is to pursue an AFL gig.

Lynch: Very smart footballer. Still very much learning his trade. His U/17 Boro season was in two parts, the first half sensational his pack marking was superb and kicked some handy goals as well. The second half was not so good , however here is the weird thing every time he played at a higher level Eg trial reprsentative level he did well. He played one super game in the carnival.
At 208 cm and still growing he is a scarce talent , therefore, all the recruiters will alow him more time to develope , what the journalist would call a project player.
To get to the next level all players need somthing special or/ and, a point of difference. At his height and his rare ability below his knees for player so tall he has good prospects. I know that his ruck coaches at State level are happy with his development.

Am I say either or both will make it to AFL level. I dont know thats up to them they obviously have talent , or else they would not be where they are now.

Getting to this point is only a quarter of the way, its how they apply themselves and develope in the next two years that will make the difference.

Sorry if I have gone on a bit but hope this sheds some light on where I think they are.

Thanks Monocle.

After reading that I would say that Jackson is more talented (at this point in time anyway) but Lynch is more likely to play in the big time. Strange but true!

Anyone else in the DVFL or surrounding areas that you rate?

I rate Morgan and Mckinley.

Both have been called soft (by other clubs than mine).

I dont necessarily agree with these comments , both are very talented ,and are victims of being out side players, who often, are recipents of cheap comments as others misconstrude, being good finishers as not as honourable as being a inside player.

Of the two who would I prefer in my side : McKinley. Both are quality players.

Another who I rate as a player but wont go the next level is Simon Kafalas fromMill Park. He is tough ,courageous and get his own ball and runs all day. Papalula ( hard enough to say his mame with out ,being able to spell it) try hard gets a lot of the ball bet does nothing with it.

Number 5 from Whittelsea dont know his name but a tough and talented player.

Just a few thoughts , Who do you rate and why?

Spot on with your accessments Monocle....

I will give you a couple of smokies, if these kids got serious about there football they could explode on the scene big time.

David Attard - Monty - Is a tough, inside player that has exceptional pace, needs to build up his body but certainly has all the skill. Can play OB, HB, HF. Very accurate kick at goal when he settles.

Nick Pearce - Boro - Tough, inside player that can hold down key position as well as play on the wing. One touch footballer below his knees, with explosive power. ( have seen him take McKinley apart on many occasions).

From the DVFL - Carnell, Jackson, Morgan. That's it in terms of blokes potentially getting drafted.

Papaluca gets charity free kicks from the umpire all day long, his lack of height really is an asset in the end because nobody is ****in small enough to get down that low. Courageous, but that's it. Kefalas is a smart footballer.

McKinley is good but I think he may get found out playing school footy over TAC Cup.

Ummmmm buddy, if you look at my profile you would have noticed that I left school a long time ago.

Like I said I am a coach in the DVJFL and judging talent, isnt about which footballer gets the most possessions.

I can tell you that these 2 kids would go a long way if they got serious.

i cant believe this topic has 5 pages going, when this years draft is only a month and a half away

who cares about next years draft!

Ooops, sorry mate. Short memory. Reason I said it is because there 2 boys are both good mates from the same school.

I can see your point with Attard, but not so sure about Pearce.

So **** OFF and contemplate Melbournes draft picks .

harry shum

Another star to look out for if not next year the year after, should be first asian to play AFL. Name's Harry Shum, he is an absolute gun. Small midfielder, quick and very good disposal, hits target every time. Great over head mark for his size. Look out for HARRY SHUM!!!
