Injuries will hurt most teams. Panton Hill, Kilmore and Mernda reserves don't look to have good cover so these teams will want to make sure they can stay relatively injury free all season or else they could be exposed.

Great call, Phill, reserves having won only 2 or 3 games in the last 4 years, the club has no depth since it was last in Div 3 and Mernda's reserves lost to them, St.Marys will be feeling good this time of year

Noticed Bentley played twos still no sign of key players from last year. Werent they supposed to be contenders...Whats goin on down there right now.
St Marys the leaders of the pack by a mile. Petroro and Ronalds are hard to stop.
Ph Morang and Mernda will round out the four but this year is St Marys to lose.
Morang seem to be getting the young blokes firing and laurimars preseason hype seems to be just that.
Lalor seem to have no tank in them and Kilmore have shown they will compete well this year.
Rezza Lalor and west fighting for last.

Agree in part berty, compared to other lists I guess ours up here at Kilmore may seem not as deep, but I reckon there are still a few types in the reserves who a year or two prior would run out at 2pm regardless so the club are doing ok. Certainly there are 2-3 positions that if injury struck we couldn't cover greatly, but for big parts of general play last Satdy I thought the Blues were in it up to their teeth at St Marys.

Another perfect weather Saturday tomorrow for round 4.

Morang by 36 pts. Caruso & Power out and Hall still out from 2 weeks back - 3 big losses at the minute. Morang will need to stay on top of their game
Mernda by 40 pts. Hope to see West lift their game from first 2 games. First home game may help.
Kilmore by 50 pts. Lalor will have a crack, but Blues playing good footy at the moment.
Burra by 60+

Looks like a better effort from the Westy’s are they getting a few back or just a slow start?
Heard it was a close game All day,
I’d say slow start as they still have key players missing Bentley, ewart and miki have not played yet, so they should get better as the season goes.

Ewart retired from all reports, miki not back til mid season at best... so if the hopes are on those two then some people might be disappointed

Revised top 4 after 4 rounds

Burra - 4-0 start should see them seal a double chance

Panton Hill - looks like round 1 was just a hiccup. Seem to be coming good

Mernda - fantastic start to the season, should play finals

Laurimar - don’t look far off at all getting within 3 goals of st Mary’s , will battle it out for 4th spot against South Morang and Kilmore

Morang loosing Shelts is a huge loss.
Agree with the rest.

By a bloke on parole, elbow off the ball, dog act!! Reaervoir needed clearance from league, league failed to notify sth morang as per rules. League could be up for some cash here.

Do the league need to notify clubs about a player on parole? Saw the hit during the last quarter and like you said, an elbow to the face. Hope the South Morang player is ok.

Apparently had his jaw broken in two places in Saturdays game.

West has a big chance of storming home, played good footy on Saturday and have a few out.
I also agree just looking at fixture although disappointing start they have played possibly the best 3 teams in it and had the bye round 2. Not sure who is out but if they can get there act together they could storm home in a similar fashion to what Epping did last year.

Who was the player who hit shelts?

I was at the Ressa v Morang game and it is bad for our game when you see a mentor to the younger players like Shelts get a late elbow to his face.
As for the player that elbowed Shelts the NFNL have him on the front of their footy record with his ankle bracelets, get role model.
I hear Shelts has a broken jaw in two places & requires plastic surgery.

It was number 21.
