wouldn't be attractive at all to potential recruits if a senior side is losing by 150+ points every game to finish of the season regardless of how well the twos might go. They wont compete with St Marys so they are risking senior reputation and wasting time on their twos anyway

How on earth does a club whose senior group haven’t won a game qualify for the reserves for finals? I assume it’s player driven and them being spineless and looking for a soft out. That’s fairly shameful from that group for not having any substance to fight it out for jumper and the people who worked so hard to rebuild the club. More concern is that the committee is allowing such culture to resonate.

How is it player driver, there have been 42 players that have played senior football this season and Reserves have had over 60 play and to qualify for finals you only need to play 3 Reserve games and no more than 50% of Senior matches. There would be at least 10-15 with season ending injuries as well so the club is running low on available players and some have had to double up on a Saturday.

So a Reserve team doesn't deserve to play finals if thier senior team doesn't win a game ??

Cant see Mernda making finals now. With Laurimar in form and playing Lalor & Resa in last 2 games, their % will overtake Mernda's easily after they only just scraped home against the Bloods on Saturday. Demons would have to win both their last 2 games. Wont happen.
The positive is there will be 4 in form sides playing finals and that should make for an entertaining series! Burra still the stand out, but easy to make an argument that Hill or South could seriously challenge on the day!

Chased by who? Sounds unconvincing. Hopefully he can help drag some players in to become competitive because I imagine the guys who came with the old coach will head back across town
