I mention him too because there is a Morris Stroud Rule.... "Goal tending by any player leaping up to deflect a kick as it passes above the crossbar of a goal post is prohibited. The referee may award 3 points for a palpably unfair act".

The Lions have lost two games in franchise history by a score of 19-17 while allowing a last-second FG that was (is) the longest in NFL history.

Out of the 10 longest field goals in History, 4 of them were game-winners, and 3 of those 4 were against the Lions.

14% of all 60+ yard field goals are game-winners against Detroit.

Just another fact about the AAFC from the previous page...

The only reason why the stats from the four years of the AAFC were not made official with the NFL is because the AAFC refused to give all the play-by-play sheets from their games to the NFL when the AAFC was absorbed into the NFL. Otherwise, if they had of, then things like the Browns' titles would've have been added on.

The AFL's stats were made official because when they merged with the NFL, they did hand over all the play-by-play sheets.

"When the safety score rule was made a touchdown was worth 4 points, a field goal was executed by dropkick and worth 5 points, and a PAT was worth 2. Should it be worth more?....it hasn't been touched since the 1890s."

"There is a virtual 3 way tie for this record depending on how you define the decade start and end dates. The New Orleans Saints only won 10 road games in their first 11 seasons 1967-77.

Browns 2010-19, Lions 2000-10, and Steelers 1940-49 all won 13 road games over a span of 10 seasons. I didn't do exhaustive research but I'm pretty sure there is no worse stretch."

In the WFT vs Seattle today WFT had possession of the ball for over 41 minutes.

What is the most time a team has had the ball in game that finished in regulation time ?

Not sure. Biggest one of note was in Super Bowl XXV : the Giants possessed the ball for 40 minutes 33 seconds.

If the AAFC didn't refuse to give all their gameday stats to the NFL when absorbed by the NFL, all the AAFC records and stats would have been included to the NFL record book. The AFL did hand over all their stats, why they are included. Anyway, if they had of, all the Browns other championship titles, Otto Graham's stats, many great defensive players too in that era. Also, consider YA Tittle....

Y.A. Tittle would have been the first QB to reach 30,000 career passing yards in 1963 (his AAFC-NFL career total of 33,070 also ranks him 40th, despite the evolution of the passing game since). Pretty big feat in that era.
