It all depends on how good there under 19s coming up to senior footy actually are? They have lost alot of there top end players and doesnt look like they gained much. They are an interesting one!

Lucky for them they have had alot of kids come through a good program with Bolts (Darren Boulton) and Darren Kane so you will see a few young blokes take their opportunities.

Yeh i saw that, i just find it worrying when you have lost Declase, Fennell, Leonardis, Collins, Mclelland, Potter, White and Kennedy and only won 7 games last year, that your relying on under 19s to step up. Will be interesting to see, hopefully they surprise me. But i cant see them any higher then the bottom 3

Where did White go? Can only see transfer for NT, but that season is almost done.

I'm not part of Monty just know of the work that was put into the kids coming through. They do have a few coming back from TAC level which will help.

Chatting with a northern blues player today and also said that the doggies went the knuckle, 1 bloke with a split above his eye from it from the blues camp.. pretty average actions in a praccy match i woulda thought

Yep spoke to a northern blues coach and he said there were a couple of hard tackles early and then North just went stupid and tried hurting blokes. It's a disgrace really and league should be speaking to them.

Had a mate who played for northern blues vs north Heidelberg in their practice match last year. Said north Heidelberg were absolute dogs trying to assert their authority.

Would have thought the NB sling tackle on the outer wing where a North player copped concussion plus another who copped a punch to the back of the head leaving him a bit dazed but no we won't hear about that will we.

Also the sling tackler incident where the NB player laughed it off left a sour taste from those around the incident.

Game was played at high intensity from both sides with two young teams trying to impress - Doggies side average age around 22 with around 8 of best 22 not playing.

Nothing more than a beat up on a slow news day & yes NFNL has spoken to club & as to what happened.

How many clubs need to cancel practice matches halfway? Virtually none.

Regardless of who started it for whatever reason it’s a very poor look.

Not sure why its funny? I tend to agree with him. Its a bad look for North and for the competition. I cant see any VFL clubs jumping out and looking for practice matches against North Heidelberg or any other clubs in the near future!

So 2 young competitive football teams are guilty of getting overzealous and over competitive in a practice much so much older and wiser heads see this and decide to end the game after 2 out of 3 scheduled quarters.

If there was a systematic approach to throw punches behind then the criticism is warranted. However from all the evidence I've gathered there wasn't.

So again, a hilarious over reaction by a few on here.

Theres a difference between a competitive practice match and one where there is safety concerns for the players. I believe Collingwood played Bundoora in a 6 quarter game a week ago, with no issues what so ever. Anyway North arent going to come out and say they were in the wrong. Its over with now and most clubs will be starting praccy matches this week or next, will be interesting if there is any standouts or players we dont know about!

It looks like Macleod’s policy or playing homegrown kids for peanuts has gone out the window with the departure of Rambo.

Can’t blame them after falling at the final hurdle the last 3 times but it will certainly put a few noses out of joint I would think.

A few youngsters and older ones even might be putting their hands out for a few more pennies I would imagine.
