They Should of done it. I went to this year grand final compare to last couple of years at Kramer St and Kramer st was way better than Epping. Bigger Crowd and Bigger atmosphere at Kramer St. This year was so flat. I actually think have all the Finals at Epping or what ever ground and then the Grand Final at Kramer St.

At the Grand Final, Epping had a scoreboard that was more often down that was working. It was more entertain watching the guy try to fix it up for ages only to make it worse and we could see the issue was at the scoreboard end and not at the club room end because the dish at the scoreboard was pointing the wrong way toward the tennis courts. They got the manual scoreboard out but put in the spot were most of the people can't see it.

Well done to Heidelberg for getting a 4peat.

Compare that to the EFNL; Premier division decided by 3pts, Div 1 decided by 2pts, Div 2 decided by 1pt, Div 3 decided by 2pts. Along with great crowds at venues conducive to atmosphere...

There has been a lot of chat about Heidelberg's dominance so thought I would do some research into Sat grand final teams and games played for each club. Now this is from Play HQ so can only go on the integrity of the data.
This is on the 22 players selected by each club and broken down into 6 categories.

Heidelberg - career games played
0-20 games - 2
21-40 games - 3
41-60 games - 4
61-80 games - 7
81-100 - 4
100+ - 2

Hurstbridge
0-20 - 1
21-40 - 4
41-60 - 6
61-80 - 2
81-100 - 3
100+ - 6

So both teams had 5 players with 1-40 games played for the club. Heidelberg had 13 players wirh 61+ games to Hurstbridges 11.

The following players have played in the
4-peat: Tardio, Sier, Honey, O'Dwyer, Bunker, Clarke, Barzen, Wilson, Poser - 9
3 flags: Gilmore, Gedi, Kearns, McInerery, Martin - 5
And Gilmore would have played in the 4 flags if didn't win a flag at Old Paradians last year.
2 flags - Keys, Signerello, J Smith and De Bolfo

So when Heidelberg players talk about their culture, I think it can be seen that players don't leave and makes them favorite for 2026 flag.

In relation to salary cap, I don't think too many clubs in any NFNL division would be under the salary cap.

So i wish all 2026 Division 1 clubs all the best with recruitment into 2026
