These incidents while “rare” still happen. Unfortunately when the NFNL has a chance to say we won’t tolerate it with incidents like Cumberland’s punch they continue to fail.

Wild has 9 weeks I’ve been told from a friend at Hurstbridge (is this true?) and just returned from a week off for rough conduct.

Clearly the message didn’t get through and could now very likely have his career over at 25 pending a future appeal.

In saying that I have very little sympathy as I’m now seeing many players retiring from repeat concussions and having their careers cut short due to moronic incidents like this which can easy be avoided.
Take the injury out of the picture (I know you cant) but if you just look at the actions and the action alone, who's action was worse. Cumberland swinging arm to the back of a players head from behind, or, Wild swinging arm to spoil a ball that to be fair was close to the ball but collected the head on the way through.

I agree. Cumberland’s imo was worse. If the injuries are reversed Cumberland gets 8 and Wild 2 or nothing…

Very good post IMO.

I think any tribunal that looked at Cumberland and due to the bloke not being injured found it only 2 weeks was just plain negligent. It's the one huge thing that has to be taken out of the game and that's a dog shot off the ball. I still personally find it amazing we don't have more police involvement when it's just plain assault away from anything resembling action.

This one was in play however I do sort of disagree with the ball being close and he collected him on the way through. I know this is a still, but the ball is a long way away, he could have pulled out. I am not trying to hang the bloke as this is all over the news and social media but he is going for a holiday. Their argument would have to argue that he was going for the ball which is not close, and he is not even looking at.

Dont disagree but this still is the frame after Lentini makes contact with the ball with his left hand. So Wild missed the ball after Lentini makes contact and comes through after the ball is gone.

It’s not just a coincidence a bloke with a prior 9 weeks and 47 seconds into a return from a rough conduct charge KOed someone.

Spot on.

His eyes are fix'd on Lentini.

Irrespective of any past tribunal outcomes for other players, this should be 6+
Yeah look ive been around football a long long time and this has to be 6+ weeks for me. No matter the intent, he has made the bloke do a kade simpson and a clenched fist which was no where near the ball. With previous suspensions, looks his time playing footy is up.

any suggestion he went for the ball is fanciful. No way was his action a football action, it was pretty clear at the time what he intended, and to be named in the best was a disgrace as well.

A REAL footballer expects to play the ball and does not expect to get snipped from behind by weak and gutless player like the dog Wild. Local footballers play the game and expect to go to work outside of injury, they do not expect to be bashed by a thug. A career ending suspension should be given. The coaching staff should also be held accountable! Looked like they were celebrating on the bench after the event. Round 17 and this elimination final it was demanded that Lentini was to be harassed or taken out!

Pathetic by the club

It would be significant if footage of any bench celebrations (together with the game footage) was available and admissible to the tribunal. Even if it was, I have very little faith in the integrity, consistency and competency of the tribunal to reach a decision that reflects how significant the incident was.

Can anyone confirm how many weeks Cam Wild has been suspended for across his career? I’ve heard 9, 10, 11 and 12 - so I’ve got no idea what’s accurate.

Nope. You are completely wrong there, champ. I don’t believe it unless it’s produced. What I actually said was that IF any footage was available, it may be significant. I wouldn’t expect you to grasp that concept, however.
