Does it mean anything if bylaws at the time meant he shouldn’t have been playing until he was 5 at the January prior to a season commencing?

My bet is he was playing under a bodgy until he was actually able to play so how can that qualify him in the games played criteria.
Would love to see the level of book keeping kept of under 9s football from 1996 (the year he’d be able to start playing under 9s) -1998 (the year he’d have still qualified to play under 9s) along with games he actually played in those years.
Let’s be honest, no one probably super accurately knows but that’s also from the leagues poor record keeping which isn’t Reservoirs fault.

He played multiple seasons for them we can be sure of that, so it’s far from a complete injustice that he is a 1 pointer.

Can’t imagine he will feature to much if he had a soft tissue that quickly.

Reservoir's historical records got destroyed in a milk bar fire

I get a laugh out all the people having a go at resa with players and point well my question is are they belting teams off the park ? Not yet they are 1 and 3 and have beaten lalor only so lighten up people and enjoy your footy watching your local club
I totally agree, resa have come from the depths of the division to being quite competitive again. It’s always the case with teams that have no juniors, west another example of a club no juniors points will always be high. Big whoop, as long as they are under 46 that’s all that matters

I went along on Saturday to watch and assumed my position on the hill with a frothy in hand to watch with great expectation due to Cotchin playing and a strong Reservoir team listed. It certainly added a bit to the pre-game watching the great man warm up in the sunshine and even stop to take a few photo's with various Tiger fans from both clubs. It was a shame he hurt a hammy but still great for local footy to have a player of that quality play as I know that players in our side were excited to play against someone who has done it all at the highest level.

As for the points - as I have said before - I don't really understand it all that well, so will leave it to those who do.

Once clearances are closed what happens to all the guys listed at Keilor park (reservoirs thirds). Reservoir mught have some decisions to make in the middle of winter when injuries and unavailabilities start occuring. Keep the guys transferred out of reservoir for the season or get them back to reservoir and fold the thirds if times get tough.

Most likely playing at Keilor Park on permits, so no issues.

NFNL don’t allow club to club permits unless it’s a MoU or super rules team. They aren’t marked as permit players (SP) on the keilor park thirds list they are just transferring in and out as needed like a clearance. There’s no affiliation it’s literally Reservoir have sent guys to KP to play under their banner because KP didn’t have a team to thirds themselves

who cares how it is done as long as it keeps players playing at the club and befits both clubs the nfnl should look at a thirds comp as well or a clubbies like the vafa

A thirds comp would be great, but sadly wouldn’t work. Not every team would have one, so it would likely be a single division of whoever has.

It would mostly consist of overflow players from the 2s, so imagine Heidelberg playing a team from Div2 or Div3. Blokes would lose interest very quickly.

the edfl started as one division it now has 3 you have to start somewhere, the growth came from playing on a Friday night and not having to train 2 nights a week and pre Christmas and the whole preseason

The league can’t even get umpires for what they have now.

Not to mention plenty aren’t even naming full benches in the ressies. Of course you may attract a different type of player but imo numbers are nowhere near strong enough across the board to consider this.

Realistically 1 club has done it and I’ve never heard another even mention wanting it

Go play AFL 9’s or for a Div 7 VAFA team if you want social football. Waste of time and resources for the league.

Watsy have had a better start than most would of thought. Mernda this week, so should see where they're starting to sit. I have heard that Cloke is overseas atm, could make it a bit tougher for them.

They’ll be happy with the start. How would they have gone if they didn’t lose most of their list? Surely up with Laurimar? Either way they’ll work hard to try and get a few back.

Watched a quarter on Saturday. Their midfield is young, but it's also tall and speedy. I'm impressed by what they are looking to build.
