Ressies coach looks like he's dropping a fart.

At least he's not called the development coach - well done Bloods.

Biggest pet hate. Its two's/magoos/ressies, if it hurts your feelings being called a reserves player then footy isnt for you.

Old mate, at first AGM there was NO quorum, they had a subsequent one and got a committee, though not many will do much like usual during season.

And yes you can apologise that I was correct their New coach left weeks go and thus had to reappoint Lance ,

The way clubs have built lists this off season has been interesting. It would suggest some believe they are in the window to go deep in finals, some to improve on last years efforts and others with a big focus on building towards some sustained/long term success.

* Epping, Mernda, Kilmore, some of West H ....looked to have a focus on building with youth.
You could also add in Kinglake with their 19's and Ressa trying to get that up and running also as part of a longer term strategy.
  • Ressa also added some experience and quality to their current list to push for finals in 2026.
  • Turtles looking to build some depth in the senior squads
  • Lalor look to have been sorting out the off-field recently and re-signing last years players.
  • Power add some very good quality to the best list from 20205 that stays in Div 3.
  • Hoers added some top end quality and significantly increase depth in overall squad.
  • Watsonia - I don't know much about, but it does look like they have lost some top end quality from their Div 2 team last year.

Also encouraging to see alot of players across several clubs returning to their junior or U/19 club from other clubs in higher divisions.

I think the amount of losses for some clubs this off season may outweigh what they can bring in and dictate the path they go. Add the fact Ivanhoe have put the premiership cup in a headlock and it is no surprise to see some clubs focus on the youth.

Yeah might be that .....

Epping - Yes - but they announced at years end they were re-building and going with youth, so no surprise there.
Mernda - people have been calling for Mernda to invest in their youth for years, Nippa looks to be focused on that.
Kinglake - 4 or 5 very good players out / a couple in and then a heap of kids/19's to set them up longer term.
Kilmore - started investing in kids last year and also 19's won a flag, so makes sense when Wallan and Broady have much larger salary caps in their leagues than what they have in Div 3 NFNL.
West - getting some younger guys also, but will need them to hang around a bit so points come down.

Didn’t we hear Mernda would be flag favourites with their ins that never happened? (So far)

I think Nippa was always going to ask the question of some ex-teammates, why wouldn't you? But IF that is not happening, they look to have chased many of their past younger players to get them back to the club who have been at a higher level.

Many? Looks like 3 ex juniors are back from their signings?
Ok - over 50% of their signings are ex youth and they kept Coffey that everyone said would leave. Let's not get hung up on a word or two Z man. I'm at the cricket loading up on beers and then off to SHB and just having a little write to pass the time - don't take anything I say as detailed fact or even remotely correct 😀

Heard Coffey is in travelling for the majority of the season, not sure if true.
