Mappa .....incoming :-) :-)

Hahaha. not a dig at them in any way, but you cannot suggest their flag was pure and for the love for the game, they played with close to full points that year too by memory.

They look like giving D2 a real shake now too. A positive leaving vafa story, along with many others. I bet NFNL will jag more northern based vafa teams soon, seems inevitable.

Yeah love the banter and the Raiders are doing a great job since the move - full credit to all those involved.

I'm sure players were paid, that's within the rules, and it has helped them get some players back and/or kept a few as well. One of the reasons the move was made I would guess .... much like the club I follow.

Should be a top 5 chance this year in D2, that's outstanding from an ammo club to build like that. 👍

Not sure who else would leave tbh - I think Champ or Chump went through the remaining northern based clubs late last year when the topic was raised and effectively ruled them all out.

Not sure the NFNL needs any new teams atm. Comp (from an outsiders view) seems to be ticking along nicely.

I think the clubs contemplating an exit are more likely to be heading to Eastern or Southern.

I doubt we'd see any of Brunswick, Fitzroy, Parkside, LaTrobe Uni, North Brunswick, Old Ivanhoe, Preston Bullants and West Brunswick cross over any time soon. All seem happy with their lot at present.

from what I understand Latrobe has it in the rules and regulations with the university to remain in the Ammos

They will never get out of the bottom division, 3-4 year degrees mean huge player turnover, and anyone half decent gets poached by NFNL clubs for cash

I could see it as an issue if a football club connected to a university was seen to be paying players.

Out would come allegations of taxpayer money being used to pay for footballers, etc.
just as well they cannot pay players as if they could they would have a hell of a good side .When you consider ,all of the really good country players go back to the bush to play for payments so they don't have to get a job in town while they study

Speaking to a Lalor supporter over the weekend they are pencilling in 6 win target for 2026. Have themselves ahead of West H and Turtles and think they can still beat Kinglake with who they have lost and even Watsonia. Massive year for them if they do that.
Half of that would be their best year in a decade so here's hoping. Yet to see any new recruitment so hopefully they have more than whispers coming up.
Also saw on Facebook they are training Monday, Wednesday and Friday for February. Could be an interesting approach to the season.

Have they picked up a single player?

I’d probably aim for 1 win first.

As a neutral supporter I’d love to see that but it’s unlikely.

Ivanhoe picked up another player that looks very handy - SportsBet wouldn't be taking any more money on Divvy 3 if they hadn't closed that market already

They mention he was a northern knights rep. 9 years ago. Who honestly cares, The mayo clubs add on those posts makes every player out to be the nathan buckley of local football. Rant over

Anyhooo, would he be a 4 pointer? Are they under any points pressure?

I asked the same question re points and told have plenty of room as many of the new recruits are 1 pointers, played our last game with about 34 points and that same team would drop approx 7 points this year.

As for the mayo - love it and a bit of fun for clubs. I'm told though, this guy might be the best out of the lot they have recruited in 2026! (I have never seen him play).

Makes our best 22 stronger - so happy with that. 👍

Looks a ripping inclusion, great news re. points as it always gets tricky.

Ash close any chance of coming back and sitting in a pocket? BF forum would collapse I reckon!
