Have you seen enough of Long to have an opinion on him?
Looks very draftable to my eye, hopefully the coaches at West Adelaide give him more exposure to the midfield because he's looked decent when they have.

So are both the twins on our NGA?
The 2025 Crows Academies NGA Indigenous Squad players are:

Shaquan Davey (Central District)

Justin Miller (Central Dist)

Malachi Varcoe (Glenelg)

Will Eckberg (Sturt)

Anthony Long (West Adelaide)

Jermaine Miller (Central District)

Luca Marrone (Central District)

Toni Marrone (Central District)

Jackson Saunders (Glenelg)

Isaac Peris (North Adelaide)

Levi Dudley (Central District)

Keanu Wittwer (Central District)

Chace Bowman (North Adelaide)

Xaviah Reid (North Adelaide)

Kurtley Von Senden (North Adelaide)

Cale Skipworth (North Adelaide)

Tony Marrone, who's NGA-tied to us in 2027, had 34, 8 clearances and a goal for Centrals' U18s on the weekend. He's been putting up big numbers all season. Has anyone seen the lad play?
Highlights on YouTube. Doesn't look overly impressive based on that. Weird kicking action and some poor decision making. The standard looks pretty average.

I'm interested to see how it works and what would stop teams drafting them as a rookie or later pick and adding the player to the Cat B spot instead, essentially just creating a spot in the main list.

I'm happy with the intent but most things the afl do are executed very poorly.

I think they're not drafting indigenous players as a rookie or later pick at the moment, so it incentivises then to actually find a player with upside and invest in them as a Car B.

I think there's a few like Dudley, Hansen Jnr, even Charlie Cameron back in the day who were taken rookie, SSP, etc who could go via this mechanism.

Without thinking it through too much (get me a job in AFL House!), should this list spot only be ffilled after the SPP / drafts each year, so if there's a player you like, you had better put him on the main list otherwise someone else can pick him up via draft/SSP if you're trying to "save" him for later.
