Mitch pretty quiet in the 1st quarter but has really got motoring in the 2nd quarter , playing down back and showing some nice run and excellent kicking. Doing a lot of the kick ins for VC also.

VC 17.11
YG 13.6

8 goal last quarter by Vic Country, 4 of those to Jesse Mellor

Mitch Stevens had a fair bit of it with his run a feature, Mellor another aligned player Geelong NGA.

Probably given Greg teaches ai Geelong's Iona College and coaches Geelong West in the GFL.

Not sure where the NGA eligibility comes from?
Greg taught at an international school in Thailand for 2 years, 2005-2007. Dates would be about right???

I have not followed the draft kids this year. What range is mitch likely to sit in in your opinion?
Later likely depending on if he makes the cut for Vic Country's final squad and his performance at the Nationals. Vic Metro have already named their final squad but Vic Country are yet to name their's as far as I am aware. Allies look certainties to win the Nationals with so many Northern Academy guns available.

Mitch Stevens a big game yesterday for Gippy Power in their big win over the Oakleigh Chargers 28 disposals 16 kicks 12 handballs 6 marks 4 tackles
What position? I would love for him to be a winger as we really need some talent there alongside Dowling. Nank and Cumming are HBs.

Why would cochrane be aligned to port?
His father is now claiming to have some indigenous ancestry, which if true would make him eligible for Ports NGA as he lives in Ports Zone, while playing for a Crows aligned club in the SANFL.

It's a real difficult one for the AFL, as they are either going to have to say no, finding a great great grandparent with some indigenous blood doesn't make you indigenous as you never grew up as one, or they are going to have to say yes, if you claim it, and there are other indigenous people who accept you as indigenous, then you are indigenous.

At the end of the day, if he is indigenous, then he qualifies for Port.
I make no claims about if he is or isn't, as that's no my job and I don't have access to their information, but it's going to make the AFL have to go out on a limb either way they go.

Would rather see a top SA talent stay at home, even if that means it's Port, than go interstate.

I think the Cochrane's family's aboriginal heritage has already been established and acknowledged

The hurdle for port now is that metropolitan areas in SA and WA aren't aligned with any of the clubs. That may change as the AFL is reviewing zoning and access
