200 games? Lock in the L

And here i thought after back to back thrashings and our response of folding like a deck of cards against the worst team in the competition at home meant we were already penciling in a win this week.

Milestone game though, you're right, starting to think we might struggle.

I also wish to pay homage to the great man. A bee's dick between he and Jack Watts but I am glad we picked the lanky kid from Midvale who was barely the 3rd most natural footballer in his street. Pick 2, 200 club, 2 ACLs, 2 AA Jumpers, 2 wins as stand captain and 2 GF's. Fantastic career. Came into the game an athletic freak and has the highlights reel to show for it, but somehow has managed to play his best football post injury and that is purely a mark of character. Club legend. Future AFL hall of famer. And 10 more years please.

I don't usually like to name drop because I have met so many famous people to this point and its somewhat crass to share such things, but in the tradition of this thread I believe it is appropriate to tribute: A good friend of mine, some years ago now but while Nic was already one of the most recognisable figures in the land, found himself in of all places Subway Swan View at lunchtime on a weekday. Who did he see there but none other than Nic, dutifully speccing out a pre-training footlong sub. My mate said that you could just tell by the way he went about it that the guy was clearly a ripper bloke, and all who cued for a sub that day were blessed for the experience. An experience I am sure was repeated many times over. So humble. So great. May you soar forever in our hearts Mr Naitanui you beautiful human.

What sub did he get? and what did he spec it with?

Sadly, I have never been able to obtain an answer to this question. Believe me I asked. My friend doesn't even support football, unfortunately just did not appreciate the gravity of the situation when he failed to take the detailed notes any of us on here would have known as our duty. We can now but only imagine what it must have been. Double meat. Double cheese. Toasted. Those would be absolute minimums I'd think for the great man and his 111kgs

Well. Congratulations, stud. What a career. One that I've simultaneously had to pick my jaw up off the floor on a regular basis whilst also defending you ferociously from opposition supporters. 'He's overrated' 'He does nothing around the ground' 'He doesn't take marks' 'He's not even that tender a lover'. Having said that, I think most people have finally come around to seeing Nic for the star that he is.

I'll never forget his goals against Hawthorn, nor will I forget his mark and kick after the siren against North. His mark against Carlton at Etihad will always be overshadowed by goals that day to Ash 'next Brownlow winner' Smith, but memorable all the same. His last gasp winner against the Giants. So many highlights.

He's been a fine servant of the club and richly deserves a flag before he goes.

Love the bloke.

In an interesting side, he's now up to 7 games in a row where he has either had 20 touches or 15 touches. Strange.
It’s good but I feel that it’s a by product of our midfield not working to his taps. He takes a fair bit out of the ruck as well. That said he seems to be putting his all into willing the side to click.
