What an absolute weapon on and off the field. Once in a generation ruckman.
FWIF, a friend of mine who used to work for the Department of Communities in Child Protection told me that Nic (and Rioli) were ALWAYS happy to come and kick the footy with any kid going through a rough patch.
Impossible not to love him.

He's IMO the best ruckman again this year, but I would be surprised if any of the selectors noticed how huge he has been.
Has he played a bad game yet? Even games where you can argue the other ruck took the points, it's not like he was invisible.
We are so reliant on him it's kind of sad but a sign of his epicness

200 games is still a fine career. I think he's the 27th Eagle out of 260 to play 200 games for the club. Mitchell and Petrie played 200 before joining WC. Redden, Stenglein, Jetta, Judd, Chick, Gehrig, Jarrad Schofield, Glendinning played 200 total across multiple clubs.
The biggest shame with Naitanui is that he was part of an era with a team strong enough to win a flag but missed out due to injuru. He was a top 5 player for us in 2015 and 2018 and will probably retire without a flag. It's sad that some people (usually nuffy opposition fans) think we are better without him in the side.

I had to bleach my brain the other day when I was reading the contract thread, lamented on Nic possibly finishing up without a flag and wondering how he'd go with the current Freo lineup.

Excuse the intrusion. Just wanted to give my love to the big man for his 200 games. My favourite opposition player, he has been a trailblazer and a incredible role model. He’s provided a realistic pathway for other athletes of colour, like Sav at Geelong.
I think it is lost on people how much brilliant football we’ve lost due to those two ACL’s an even with that injury history he is still the most dominant player in the AFL when he’s on. Love him! The AFL media should’ve devoted at least 50% of the time spend on the Riewoldt 300 circle jerk talking about Nic instead!
