im pretty sure that with the pick 20 that we traded for holland richmond managed to pick up a young guy from wy yung that goes by the name dean polo...

I don't think this is correct. Polo was drafted in 2004, the same year we got Bate and Dunn. In that year we traded Jolly for pick 15, pick 12 for moloney and pick 29????? for PJ. Holland has been at Melbourne for more than 2 years, I think.
Correct me if I'm wrong, though. I'm pretty sure its right because Bate was our 1st pick at 13, so we wouldn't have 20 next up.

Actually pick 20 made its way to the Eagles somehow and they took Sam Butler with it.

Beat me to it. I think West Coast got it from Geelong for Haynes. Not sure how it got to Geelong from Richmond?

Pick 20 was traded by Richmond as part of the package for Nathan Brown (with pick 6). It was traded on to Geelong for Peter Street and was then passed on to West Coast for David Haynes. West Coast took Sam Butler.

Incorrect, i think you'll find that particular pick 20 was used by Richmond to draft Alex Gilmour from Tassie, who is now playing SFL Premier League with Brighton.

Ooops just checked that, Gilmore was 21, Sam Butler 20. in a different draft to the one we picked Smith in.

sorry guys, i guess i was wrong. but just to clear it up i was never saying its amazing polo went with that.. i jsut thought id chuck in an interesting fact.. 1 game doesnt make him a superstar.. look at walker.. and a lot worse can happen than that... he got no attention from brent stanton. yeh it was a good debut but that might be all hes remembered for... bate on the other hand
