I admire everything about Nick. The humility in him , is just through the roof. How he celebrates players after great efforts/goals is just bloody lovely. Almost celebrates like Peter does in the box after a few reds.

I know this is part of Flys mantra to celebrate those around you. Nick does even this at an elite level.

His reaction when Bobby won the Norm was pure joy

I have noticed a strange phenomenon this year with Nick.

Whenever he has been one of our best 1-3 players, but not clearly our best (e.g. Brisbane game) I think there has been a tendency from people in the media and even our own supporters to play down the quality of his games. This is despite Nick being the most tagged/scragged player in the league and in my opinion, more damaging/aggressive with his disposals then any other player on the team.

Feels like whenever Sidebottom, Josh or Pendles get 27-28 disposals, they are automatically considered BOG or close to it, whereas Nick can have 32 and a goal and still considered not to have too much of an impact.

The expectation discrepancy phenomenon.

He’s marked harshly because the bar’s been set so high. Tall poppy syndrome accounts for a lot as well.

Its down to contested marks with the anti Nick flogs. How often have we kept tally of midfielders contested marks until now? :tearsofjoy:
He's now drawn level on career contested marks (from less games) with that other midfield squib - Matt Rowell.

I’m waiting for the High Court Appeal to overturn the decision to classify that mark as contested.
We should set up a play where Nick takes an absolute screamer over Mason Cox to win MOTY. Like on a switch in the backline with no opposition around with Coxy as a human ruck bag set up. Hows that for contested mark ya campaigners? MOTY over the tallest bloke in AFL history. Tick

Is he John Cena as Umpires can’t see him and all the Holding he gets everytime the ball goes near him?

Disgusting by Scumps and AFL to let it keep Happening

Need more tricks from coaches to get him out of it, need more protection, missed maynard and de goey today, few lukewarm pussyfoot efforts from teammates didnt cut it in terms of blocking today
