Yeah but it left him without anything at the end where it counts. We usually come home with a rush but never looked like it last night.
No doubting he didn’t finish strongly as per usual, but I think that’s as much due to the complete lack of support he got in the middle

This is just an opinion and 'Fly' probably doesn't have the balls but I prefer Nick's role the past couple of weeks. I would like to see Fly push it further, reducing Nicks midfield time.....Play Nick off the halfback line and half forward line who pinch hits every quarter through the middle. Nick will still accumulate 35 touches with less scrutiny.

I would like to see Fly rotate Jordy, Beau, Josh, Shoota, Harry, Titch, Allen and Nick with the old fella's Scott, Steele and Crisp. Obviously, not all will be playing at the same time.

Also, CFC needs to find a solution to the long dumb kick down line, a number of years CFC has relied on Cox bring the ball to ground. Fly has moved in another direction not selecting Cox but it doesn't look like he has developed an alternative game solution.

I don’t know if getting the best midfielder in the comp out of our struggling midfield is the answer

Nick hasn't been Nick for months, the past 3 weeks Nick as had midfield down time and Nick has looked like the old/young Nick again, I like it!

His midfield “down time” still sees him getting our most clearances and first possessions over the last 6 games, where he’s been incredible. I don’t want him to be removed from the position where he can influence the game the most, I want his teammates to step up!

So, you're agreeing me with I think, carry on!

Anyone hearing he got engaged? The same bloke at work who told me Petracca was with Leppa in Derrimut just said it, so take it with a grain of salt! lol

Hope it's true! Get started on making some baby boys!

All for creating more F/S opportunities, but let's not wreck his life with kids just yet. In fact, forget kids, he's too young to get engaged. Actually, probably shouldn't even have a GF coming into the off season.

I'd prefer he becomes a frequent sperm donor like the netflix documentary "The Man with 1000 Kids".

Do bastard progeny spread throughout the city qualify as Father Son?

He just desperately needed a genuine elite midfield partner. No disrespect to the rest of the team but the drop off in midfielders is insane.

I hope we can start using Perryman J.Daicos in there more to start with.

The sad thing is he could be the last daicos F/s if the afl removes the F/s system in the next few years. The drums for its removal are only getting louder .

I like the F/S rules, NGA and academy systems. I especially like them if a side has genuinely put time into developing young players.
The only thing that needs to change is the matching process. You shouldn’t be able to match a first round pick with third, fourth rounders etc.
I think you should only be allowed to match a first round pick with other first round picks. Happy to still have a small discount dependent on a nomination process that happens two years before a players draft year. If that doesn’t equal enough points in the current year, your next years estimated first cops a hit to make up the difference.
Still don’t have the points after that, no matching. Better teams will struggle to match and it’s not just a given they will get who they want like it is now.

What about only one academy pick per side. If the one's that miss out are good enough they can still be picked up by other clubs. Northern state academy kids should be sold the dream of playing AFL rather than just playing afl in their home state. Academies should be seen as elite talent pathways.

What people miss, not all father sons are superstars. Right now, across the AFL are a pretty decent crop, but F/S doesn't mean you're getting a champion.

Right now is flattering to the system

2 x Daicos
2 x Ashcroft
Darcy
Liberatore
Moore

And several others that are decent - but you also have the Brown boys, Will Kelly and the likes.

Anyway, it's luck of the draw really - all clubs except for Gold Coast and GWS have been around long enough to start producing F/Ss. Port Adelaide even, has been around long enough now to see F/S coming through.
