They played different positions. Their stats were always going to wildly vary. 13.5 disposals and 2 goals for a forward pocket is good going nonetheless.

If you assemble disposals, contested possessions, clearances, inside 50s, goals, goal assists and tackles averages for Daicos' 7 finals I'm happy to take a look. Maybe his 0, 0, 0, 3, 4 (pre-adjustment), 5, 0 entries for coaches votes were "unders".

Just keep in mind that Holmes dominated the state sheet in the 2025 GF but had a poor game. It happens with midfielders. Daicos' 2025 prelim also looks good on paper.
Yep. Raw stats aren't a particularly accurate reflection. Yet you're using them for Gaz? They seem to be your only point for Gaz's early final's performances.

Just keep in mind that Holmes dominated the stats sheet in the 2025 GF but had a poor game. It happens semi regularly with midfielders - a few with Dangerfield over the years for example. Daicos' 2025 prelim also looks good on paper but he didn't have much impact - especially in the 2nd half.
Forward scores 2 goals out of 26 = "borderline elite" 😆

No coaches votes available for the finals in his prime. You're not very good at this.
I'm sure you could find lists of best players from those games. That's the closest there is if you're insistent on a comparison that uses coaches votes. But instead you're using stats for one and coaches votes for the other. It's complete nonsense.

Ah yes, like when Fadge was using wikipedia to try and assess Selwood's finals appearances from back then. That was good for a laugh.

Seems more legit than using stats for one player and coaches votes for another when you could use stats for both or a best players list as an approximation of coaches votes for both.

I don't think the more legit methods would suit your argument though, would they?

13.5 disposals and 2 goals average over a full season categories a small forward as borderline elite. So achieving that in finals equates to the same.

Averaging 2 coaches votes per final over 4 years (Daicos) is not really borderline elite. It's solid.
LOLOLOL.

'Small Forward'.

Daicos skipped that stage of his career.

Ummm.....you do realise there's a Brownlow thread on your own board don't you, with literally hundreds of comments talking about lack of credibility, a rort, biased and corruption. But yeah.....let's use it as a tool to anoint Naicos as the Bradman of our sport... ..hahaha.

The thread is still there......
So you'll be able to show the posts from me and Corny?

If you don't think he's been the best player in the competition, let alone Collingwood's best player, over the last 3 seasons, you simply do not understand footy.

But feel free to continue channelling your inner Rusey, oh disingenuous one.
He hasn’t been.

He has been top 5, but not the best.

Daicos is fighting Jake Paul next year and will earn 80 percent of the purse which is 80 million dollars.

Even boxers love him.

Some very interesting data.....

I have reviewed the accolades for the most decorated players of the 21st Century, based on the three major individual awards available - Brownlow, Players MVP and Coaches Award.

Nick is not quite there yet, but it's quite amazing how close he is to everyone with the exception of GAJ - and forecast to overtake most if not all of them by the time he is 24!

Data below is wins/podium finishes for each of the individual awards - wins are included in the total podium finishes.

This table should be added to the OP

Stark reminder of how good Daicos has been so far, which a lot of people have already forgotten 😕

Jeez - he's a genuine chance to go into second place in his 5th year. That's absolutely extraordinary.

If not for the late season 2023 injury, he'd already be 4/7 - claiming the Brownlow and Coaches Award, assuming the players vote would have still gone to Bont - and equal second for number of major awards...

After only 4 years in the system.
