Mega Thread Nick Daicos - Can he be the GTWEB? Part 2

His 'awards' and 'votes' in H&A are excellent and Pie fans and media muppets tell us he's the best in the game. So when his finals 'awards' and 'votes' have him well outside the top-25, then at this stage it's laughable to have him as the beat in the game.

If he was the 'best' as Pie fans keep telling us, then he'd dominate finals....he doesn't. Maybe one day he will and he can lay claim to be one of the very best in the game.
So, who are the top 5 players in the game at the moment, I assume you'll base it off both home and away and finals?

Geez
Surprised he didn’t actually kick a goal or only had one GA
Looks like he was head and shoulders above everyone else
👎
Yes, he was clearly the most impactful player on the ground according to AFL PlaYa RaTinGz.

Danger and Naicos the two stand-out players in the PF. One is a modern day champion, and the other has had the best start to a career of any player in the 21st century.

As fans we are lucky to get to watch superstars lifting for finals👍

Daicos's coaches votes average before last night was 2.33/game. Eddie Betts was 3.6 and in 12th place. So not sure where 2.33 places Naicos? Maybe around 25th?
Naicos finals were 3 in a debut season, and 2 rushed back from a knee injury. The disengenuos Cat will argue that there is no point including debut season games.
As for player ratings (min 3 x finals)
A 26.3 player rating to be the clear dominant player on the ground in a PF after being his team highest rated player in the QF win. He has elevated his game again in finals.

So whilst his H&A 'stats' are excellent, his finals comparison is very modest. He can obviously improve on this.
An avg player rating of 21.5 in finals for his 4th season of footy, a harsh judge of you think he will improve much on that.
But finals are much more highly contested and fierce....Naicos just can't impact or get 'votes' as he can in uncontested and free flowing H&A games.
??
He has received coaches votes in all of his finals outside of his debut season.

And now is also dominant in player Ratings.

He does it all!! 😍

Was that in last nights prelim?

Danger on Friday agreed but McCluggage was the stand out last night.

omg, no. Seriously?

it's because the club is 80% 30+ yo players!!

the only thing that 'worked out' Collingwood in the 2nd half of this year was mother Nature/Father time
Nah. Watch the first time we played Brisbane. Old meant we couldn't run as well as the other good teams. Early season our zoning took out their kicking transition, by cutting off the 45 degree kicks and squeezed the game into one half of the ground and thus made them go long down the line to Moore and Cameron, but they worked out how to get around that by simply going backwards and central to begin with and then we were stuffed in terms of covering their spread as both sides of the field was open to them.

Yep, Danger dropped a 29, which was his best game since before COVID according to player ratings.

Daicos dropped a 26, a fair way off the 37 he managed earlier this year against the Tigers.

McCluggage was good with a 14.7, but not at level of the stars like Danger and Daicos. 👍

AFL Player Ratings: The official AFL player ratings as seen on AFL.com.au using location and the result of events to measure a player’s performance.

The Tiger fanbois love quoting them, as Dusty had a few big finals games.

Players MVP, Lou Richards medalist and now a 26.3 player rating for a PF, fair season for the lil master.

I agree with this, I just think if he’s the player this thread is suggesting he is, surely if plan A isn’t working, you tell him to just go win you the game of football.
The likes of Judd/GAJ/Danger/Dusty that this thread is purporting Nick is at/above the level of, attack that ball and win you that game, or at least give you a chance, rather than spectating 6m away with the season on the line.
This.

Daicos was outside and looking for a handball receive far too often. You cannot do that if you’re an A grade footballer in a PF. Forget what role you play, if you’re getting rinsed it’s your job to go in and win the ball.

His tackling is poor, his intensity at the ball is poor and he is at best an excellent outside player. Even in finals you’ve got to go and he didn’t do that. Honestly, the pile on is happening because the same parrots keep chirping about how he is the most unprecedented player we’ve seen in his first few years.

He just isn’t.

Did it rate Daicos game better than McCuggage?

Oh my god you are so obsessed with player ratings mate. You actually have NFI. I am sure his 27 touches yesterday helped his ‘ratings’ but when the rubber hits the road those 27 were absolutely meaningless.

Yeah ok mate.

He wasn’t a stand out last night. He was average. Ashcroft and McCluggage owned him. Where do they sit in your bullshit playa ratings?

Sorry, how is using location and events supposed to accurately critique a player?

7 touches>2 goals according to Collingwood fans apparently
So basically you need to ask; which game would you prefer? doppleganger i am going to ask you this. Straight up.

If you had to pick a set of statistics last night, what would you pick?

Ashcroft - 20, 2 goals, 6 tackles, 5 clearances.

Daicos - 27, no score, 5 tackles, 6 clearances

Both playing midfield weren’t they?

Ashcroft had far more support.
