If there is any advantage, real or perceived, to nominate Daicos with full knowledge you’ll still get Horne then why not do it.

Exactly right. North knows we won’t pass on Daicos. It’s a zero risk proposition and weakens our position. It’s a legit no brainer even if they rate Horne higher.

Amazing how so many people on the North board who had professed Horne as a generational wonder kid, so far and above others (without generally having ever watched him), now regard others in the draft as better options…

Dogs won’t pass on Darcy either. A bid on Darcy improves North’s draft position better than a bid on Daicos.

Teams can bid on multiple players. If you have Darcy at 1, Daicos at 2 etc. you bid that way in an attempt to get those players or to worsen the opposition teams position.

No, and when he does it all seems so easy for him. Not really an ideal year prior to an AFL debut.

Since the end of 2019 he has played a VFL practice match, 5 NAB League games and a game for Vic Metro.

Not too worried but I couldn't help but think he could be developing his game even more right now.

If you look at his games with the body size a young man has he probably couldn't develop more, good solid pre-seasons is what he needs now.
