why dont you ******** off and hate somewhere else? I'll like who I like, I love footy in general and I have players I like and who I dont like. I go to the footy, I barrack and support my team...dont need some village idiot like you offering a worthless opinion to me.

Who are you to question culture issues with a post like this hater? you'd hold a grudge against a guy like Sav who we delisted? Davis obviously had some personal issues and wanted to play somewhere else. Bucks was traded to us after 1 year under the pretense of some half ass excuse? Tunnel vision? you got it in spades dude

if there's anyone with tunnel vision its you "dude".

l assume you'll come clean now and let the whole world know you are the PRESIDENT of the NICK DAVIS FAN CLUB?

gloss over the facts that "Mummy's Boy" throughout the 2002 season kept pledging his future with us but never had any intentions of staying even though he told the coach and football departments to their faces that he'd stay only to walk out a week before the Copeland.

the Swans and he had this scenario already worked out because not once did the Swans during the trade period put anything on the table worthwhile for Davis but the club was painted into a corner 5 minutes before the end of the trade period of a crappy "take it or leave it" second round pick or having Davis walk out on us and go to Sydney for nothing via the uncontracted PSD.

don't lecture me on who to like or hate as you clearly are out of the depth here sonny boy if you think you know the background to the whole story.

live in your fairytale deluded world and let the rest of us get on with supporting the club we love not stabbing it in the back by defending turncoats like Nick Davis.

You're a disgrace to the BLACK & WHITE.

I had this big post lined up about football and the pro's and cons and how you have to deal with the good and the bad, and not hold grudges for the rest of your life, and appreciating the skills of footballers, but then I realized what I was talking to...and I realized I was wasting my time totally. I hold no grudges against past Collingwood players at other clubs. Footy is a vicious circle...I'm not a person who goes to the footy and boos an opposition player if he oncw wore black and white. So sometimes the method of departure leaves something to be desired, when you are sitting in your rocking chair at 90 years old...are you still going to be saying "damn that Nick Davis, sonny." Probably, that deserves pity and not much else. Good on Sav for prolonging his career and becoming one of the all time great goalkickers. Good on paul Williams for his Sydney best and fairest wins

Congratz on a great effort the other night Nick Davis, be great if you were in a black and white jumper.

WTF!?

In 2002, he was a star for us. Are you freaking ******ed?

A star?
Rubbish. Off memory in 2002 he was an injury prone cameo star. Popped up occasionally to kick a few goals but nothing really more. But you couldn't help but love him; just oozed class, exactly what we lack.

2001 he was brilliant, though.

Always a fan of Boofa and loved him at Collingwood.

He may have finally turned the corner, judging by his form of late and by his bodyshape. About time, too. Have always said he would be one of the top 10 players of the comp if he could just care about footy as he does about punting on the horses.

Nick Davis: his career

Nick Davis was a young player for us who had loads of talen and showed it with some nice cameos but never really opened up a game for us nor put together a good season. He moved to Sydney and rested on his talent and did nothing apart from small nice cameos. Nothing has changed since his Collingwood days, he might of even went backwards. He apparently has been working harder and kicked 4 miracoulous goals in a final to win it for them (after probably giving away 2/3 goals).

Will Davis back it up or will he go back to resting on his talent to get a game?

We got Pebbles Rocca pretty cheap and he's taken us within a couple of goals as a flag (Davis won't).

Swings and roundabouts.

The Swanettes will lose hard this week, so Boofta will disappear into obscurity again.

We also got Paul Licuria. 40 possesions vs. Port Adelaide in the qualifying final at AAMI stadium anyone?

We gave up little in retrospect for Rocca (If Sydney picked a good player it could be different, won that trade), we got Holland AND Clement for Williams (great trade for both clubs the only clubs screwed was Freo) and what did we get for Schauble? But he was very handy for Sydney for a while. Nixon for Davis was crap but I'd rather have him than nothing, this Port -Stevens "pride" crap is overrated. If Noel Judkins actually made a half decent selection we could be looking at this a whole different way.

Sydney is a club we have good success in dealing with and actually create good trades and don't really get screwed.

Pick 3 (Nic Fosdike) for Paul Licuria and Mark Orchard. A win for you guys, if only we had picked someone like Lenny Hayes or Josh Carr with #3.

Schauble was for Mark Kinnear, who you might not remember because he retired almost immediately after being traded and pick 34 (Leon Davis)

And as you said, the Williams trade was a win-win except for Freo.

Yeah I forgot the Lica trade. Ahh yes Kinnear, he did more than the other Kinnear at least.
Davis for Schauble is not so bad considering Schauble and his injuries, although Schauble was good for Sydney for a few years he quickly fell apart.

In this Nick Davis "Love-in" I'll throw in my two cents:
I remember going to a Club night with a mate on a Thursday at the start of 1999, and this 'kid' was selling raffle tickets (we knew he was a new player, just didn't know who). We asked him: "So who are you?" and he said "Nick Davis". We said "Oh, well good luck mate!"

From then on, we nicknamed him "Who are you?"

End of stupid story.

Hehe.

ND was my favourite player at Collingwood and I was devastated when he left.

I just wish he could've done that in the last quarter of 2002 GF.
