i hope davo is traded at the end of the season :)

though no swans fan will ever forget that freezing night against the cats
'I SEE IT, BUT I DONT BELIEVE IT'

Nick Davis's destiny is in his own hands. We all know he can kick goals but that is not enough in todays game. The forwards today have to tackle and chase, basically turn their game from attacker to defender. You just need to look back at some stats from games this year and you will see the extra work our blokes are doing.
There is no reason why Davis can't commit himself to adding a few more strings to his bow.He should be one of the best tacklers as apparantly he has a rugby background.
It's all up to Nick!

Davo needs to hire a new manager. This isn't going to help his cause.

Maybe so Grimlock, but it seems it's all inevitable now and the shopping of Nick Davis has begun. Some clutching at straws by the manager tho, in terms of who might want him - Port Adelaide? West Coast? C'mon - he has to be kidding. Good point made in the article about the fallout of Davis's failure to realize his potential under both Malthouse and Roos - he is not going to have clubs banging down his door I'm afraid..

Theres been a lot of talk about him on SEN this morning. At first I thought there must have been some big announcement regarding his career however it appears it's probably just a slow AFL news week with only 2 games on this weekend.

In August of 2007, Davis was on the verge of signing a three-year deal however Thompson revealed that his contract is a year-to-year proposition.
"It is a year-by-year thing,'' Thompson said. "It was signed at the end of last year. The Swans wanted a season-by-season deal with Nick, that is their and the leadership groups's policy.''

Interesting. The general view among posters was that he was on a 3 year deal. At least now if he does go we won't be left paying him over two more years.

True. That is so obvious!

I figure Ireland as "family friend" was trying to educate Thompson.

Very sad unless he can get 2 teams real keen then Nick might be kept on list as a backup on much reduced terms

Melbourne maybe best chance?
Freo... could they take such a risk again?
I can't see any other team offering anything much, most not the least interested, but might take him very late rounds.

Nick and Thompson has signed his death warrant:
"He said to me the other day, `if I need to move clubs, I need to move clubs,"

A smart manager would have said somethin like "We are confident that Nick has doubled his efforts and will redouble to prove his value and will force his way into the side in time for finals"

.... even if he knew it was BS!:o

Yeah, this line is a killer

"He said to me the other day, `if I need to move clubs, I need to move clubs"

When I first thought about it I thought i'd be devasted if we traded him but seriously, if that's the attitude he is going to have then screw him.

harsh

his contract expires at the end of this season, and he has failed to regain his position in a winning sydney line-up; what other reaction could you expect from him

remember as well, without him we would not of made the 2005 grand final. in addition he was arguably our best player in the 2006 grand final

so personally i find it too harsh for attacking a guy who has done so much for this footy club

There's a reason why he has failed to get a spot in the team.. his attitude and obviously the effort isn't there.

Yes, we wouldn't have won the 05 GF without him and we wouldn't have gotten as close as we did in the 06 GF if he wasn't there, but that's all in the past now.. right now i'm concerned about 2008 and who is putting the effort in.

I find it upsetting that he isn't willing to put whatever it takes in to stay with the Swans.. instead he is saying crap about if he has to move then another club then he has to.. why not say "No, i'm fighting for my spot and I won't let the club give up on me".

It is probably this sort of BS!:thumbsd: that got his "big head in the clouds" in the first place.

FFS he kicked 4 good goals did nothing till last quarter.. the last one would not have happened, if not a for a team set play, where Schnieder and Kirk blocked for him! watch it again!

How many times has Hall kicked 4, and is not even mentioned in the "Best"

Best in 2006 GF.... meh:o.. watch the DVD again!!! he came good and had a go in the last quarterand a bitof 3rd... watch Teddy Kirk Goodes Mal bust their guts running and watch out for the "second efforts" of Davis!!!... Davo thinks it means ....one second of time!!!

Well I won't argue that point. He was clearly BOG!

Had a rare look at RWO recently and was amused they called main board "Non-Nick chat" ....or some such!!!!:D

But identify Nicks best 5 games in the last 3 years??????????:thumbsu: Go on!

especially look for 4 or even 2 quarter "team together rousing" displays

Then go and munch the legs off some soppy battery hen sloshed in OIL & splattered wid "secret" herbs and spices!;)

If he goes....hope it doesnt end spitefully....he is one of my fav players...and 2005 would have happened if not for Nick Davis come 2 savus

Get rid of him....never liked that guy. ;)

well what are we defining as a good game for nick?

is he meant to kick 4 goals a week like the semi final? the best small forwards in the comp dont. If you stack his stats up compared to similar players in the comp he compares quite well. Maybe stevei johnson makes them all look bad these days but he is a freak.

Davis seems a victim of stupid expectations. If he does what he did last year 30+ goals in 18-19 games he has done his job really what else do we expect??

others on the team arent judged as heavily. Lrt, bevan etc, how many under 10 possession games do they have, how many under 5?

not bagging those guys, but why is so much expected of davis. He isnt a superstar but he has given us pretty good service and is a lot better performed than some in the current 22.
