Memo Collingwood Supporters:

It is such a joy to be able to anonymously enter this site and give you Pies supporters a pasting.

So, Nick Davis for pick 23. Makes those of you who thought you were getting Goodes + picks + players look like bigger fat idiots than your President. Hopefully, you all feel as stupid as you generally look.

Under pressure, your administration broke, just like your team in the GF.

I have already booked my plane tickets to Melbourne for 3 May 2003 - I cannot wait to see your sorry faces when the great Nick (in the footsteps of his father b4 him), unleashes his golden fury upon the goals at the Lockett end of Colonial Stadium.

I look forward to your useless flames in response.

Suffer pies. Losers.
Go Swans. Winners.

Dont fall into the trap that Collingwood supporters found themselves, but thinking Nick Davis is the next Daicos.

He will not single handedly propel Sydney to premiership glory. Far from it. He might well have potential, but I see him developing into a Matthew Nicks style (except on the forward line).
To be a challanger next year, we just need quite a few young blokes to take the next step.
2002 could be a watershed year. We had the 5th highest percentage meaning we could mix it with the best, but still pick up No. 7 pick in the draft + davis. A new positive coach could bring back some players who werent suited to Eade, and anything could happen.
The best Davis could do would be make the difference between finishing 5th or 4th next year, which is not bad.

Finishing 5th wouldnt be too bad as we would get to eliminate the pies at Stadium Australia in the first week of the finals. ;)

How smart

How dumb are you? Obvioulsy another of the Swans bandwagon supporters. Here are a few facts:

1. Craig Davis played 5 games for the Swans as a favour to Tom Hafey and hardly kicked a goal
2. It would have been hard for him to kick goals at the Lockett end as the ground was built after he finished playing

Of you are going to give it to us, get it right at least.

Glad you are happy with him, but he only plays day games as his mommy don't let him out when it is dark. Good to also see he needs major surgery and will miss pre-season.

Winners don't wait 60 years or more for a Premiership.

Come back when you make the finals - or even better when you win one.

Davis is quality - well done - the only player in the history of the game who actually wanted to be in Sydney. Enjoy.

Didak is the new Daicos. Davis is not half the player Alan Didak will be.

Gee you give Swans fans a bad name by posting that sort of tripe. Sure he is a good pick up and we got him for less than Collingwood wanted, but don't think he will be the difference between a good year and a bad year. There is no I in team and frankly for us to do well 21 other players must improve on this years form and hope we stay away from injuries. One player doesn't change a team.

I believe the Swans won't make the 8 again next year, the retirements of Kelly and Dunkley will hurt us. However this doesn't mean next year will be a failure. The young kids we have will step up and grow into handy players who will lead us to future glory. 9th to 11th.

I have watched the Swans for 15 years and I know well enough not to think big, I did in 97 and again in 2002. I learned from these mistakes.

2003 will be a year to improve our playing list and begin to rise up the ladder

Oi its 70 years not 60, we are quite proud of that record, makes our next one all that more sweet, just like yours in 1990 after such a long wait.

Anyway 1 premiership in 44 years is not something to be proud of from a club that is so great now isn't it? We don't have success you do.

Now I'm happy we got Davis. Quality player. AND we got him cheap.

BUT you'd be pretty wrong to say that Collingwood were losers for getting a Brownlow Medallist for a few picks above what we gave to get Davis. Far from losers IMO.

And, yes, a very poor attempt to troll.

Morgoth - not as dumb as you perhaps. if craig davis runs out for the swans on 3 May then I will know you have had the last laugh.

Robbieando - wins have been few and far between for us. i am merely savouring in this a glorious victory. Please note that I never suggested he was going to turn us into a premiership side. let's save that discussion for pre-draft - at this stage, just mouthing off at the pie idiots who got onto this messageboard mouthing off at swans in general and how they would bend us over in the davis trade. don't back them up as well.

Wrong Hotpie. Davis leaves Didak for dead with a capital "D". For a start, Nick can play on both sides of his body, take overhead marks, read the play...well that's 3. But I will admit that Didak's maturity is at least in line with his age, as opposed to Nick's which is in line with his boot size.
Given a choice of losing Leon, Alan and Magoo versus just losing Nick, I would lose the other 3.

I will also agree with the original thread starter, our trading people are the weakest in the comp. Insipid and unable to negotiate or call bluffs. Pick 23 in this draft is no better than Nick going into the pre-season draft. Woeoverated fell into our laps, don't think for one minute we pulled a "coup". We can draft OK, but trade?....we are lamentable.

I would hardly call this a victory worth doing anything about. Might look good on paper now, but what about if Collingwood use pick 23 to get the next Buckley and Davis does his knee in his first match? Would we be the winners then.

I know most Collingwood supporters have big egos and think they are the greatest, but don't lower yourself to their level, it never works.

Oh, and MM's dummy spit:
screama.gif

Coach Mick Malthouse took a swipe at Davis yesterday saying the club only wanted players of good character.

"We are disappointed that Nick Davis is gone but we have said before we only want good people at this football club," Malthouse said.

"And those that didn't want to be here, those that gave little back to what we were trying to do . . . We bent over backwards for these type of players and we got little back so we feel justified in letting him go.

"But we move ahead because we have two young players that want to be here in Shane Woewodin and Andrew Williams."

What would he say. I am more than happy with how MM uses the mind games. Certainly has it all over Sheedy. LM and MM are clearly the best at it.

I would hardly call Woewoeful a willing party to that trade. He has made it clear that he was willing to take a pay cut to stay at Melbourne, but went to Collingwood when it failed to work. Hardly knocking down the door to get in.

Ummm

The point is how can he follow in his fathers footsteps as his father never did anything for the Swans, get it, maybe I should say it slooooooooower for you!

Look forward to seeing you and the other 100 Swans fans in May.

If memory serves well, Craig came out of retirement for Tommy (no players available on list) and kicked 8 goals at Waverley!! Then went back into retirement.
Very fit athlete is Craig.

home game

Robbie

It is our home game. How many members do you think the Pies will have next year? How do you think you will get in? Do you really think Ed will doa deal to give you access to the game?

A deal is struck with the AFL for a MELBOURNE MEMBERSHIP, Which is for ALL melbourne games.

So I dont see how Eddie can stop the Swans getting in there.

I'll be there with the Cheer Squad which under AFL law must be given 300 tickets to each game. In any case its a first come first served game and that means Swans fans have as much chance to get tickets as Collingwood fans just like it has been the last few years.

Well said.

Maestro :

Pathetic attempt at a troll. And if you think getting Nick Davis in a trade for what is possibly a bargain is "a glorious victory" you've got some real problems.
