"Goes ok" is an understatement
At least Gilly pulled up Ok after the run on the weekend, not sure if he will play for West's Bs or in a North internal this week, then it's Centrals after that so hopefully he's firing that day. I'm glad Port's reserves won on the weekend, both Port and West were bottom and winless and I didn't want Gill running around in a Port top, he was not looking forward to that either.
He's a top line SANFL forward, that's why he is on our list. No one denies that. Until he is picked for the AFC and produces form that surpasses Welsh, I hardly see how he should be placed ahead of him in the pecking order.
I'm looking forward to Gill getting some form and providing another option in attack for the AFC. That would allow another tall to be shifted from attack to defense which would release Mattner on to a wing.
IMO, the experienced, physically developed option of Gill is clearly a better choice than the inexperienced option of Westhoff.
