Nick Gill.....where to?

"Goes ok" is an understatement :p

At least Gilly pulled up Ok after the run on the weekend, not sure if he will play for West's Bs or in a North internal this week, then it's Centrals after that so hopefully he's firing that day. I'm glad Port's reserves won on the weekend, both Port and West were bottom and winless and I didn't want Gill running around in a Port top, he was not looking forward to that either.

:)

He's a top line SANFL forward, that's why he is on our list. No one denies that. Until he is picked for the AFC and produces form that surpasses Welsh, I hardly see how he should be placed ahead of him in the pecking order.

I'm looking forward to Gill getting some form and providing another option in attack for the AFC. That would allow another tall to be shifted from attack to defense which would release Mattner on to a wing.

IMO, the experienced, physically developed option of Gill is clearly a better choice than the inexperienced option of Westhoff.

Yes that is why we signed him, as a ready-made cover for a forward with Trent and even Rhett both out for the year. I don't think Welsh should be dropped for Gill either as Gilly hasn't proven that he can perform at AFL level yet. He has to get fit and in form before he should even be considered in my opinion. At least he is very flexible in that he can either roam around the edge of the 50 or play in the goal square where he can sit on the heads of a few unlucky defenders ;)

Ready-made cover probably suggests he may not have been picked otherwise.

I'd like to think that if Trent and Rhett were on the list, he still would have been taken. The boy has a future (5 or 6 years ?) in AFL if he's good enough. Nothing stopping him being the number 1 forward on our list if he applies himself.

Nathan Bock was considered a hack on here only 1 or 2 years ago !

I am not sure if the Crows would have picked him up if we didn't have a couple of big men on the serious injury list, he may have gone interstate.. who knows.. but I'm bloody glad that the Crows got him. Otherwise he would be pissing away in the shittyy VFL while he gets over his injury, Nick would prefer to be at North when he's not with the Crows as he loves the club and the city of Adelaide.

If he gets fit he has a future in the AFL, we don't really have anyone with his kind of flair and marking prowess on our list, even though I guess you could put Trent in that bracket.

I thought Bock was a hack until he bitch slapped Saint Nick!
