In just his third game of senior football, Nicholas Hind rounded out the votes and proved why he’s quickly becoming a crowd favourite at Moorabbin.
Blistering pace, creative flair and a natural goal sense look to be just the start for the mature-age recruit from Clunes, and his two-goal bag takes his career tally to an impressive six.

Has been a great pick up by the Saints . After being so close to selection as a defender for most of the year actually got his chance playing as a forward . His super quick pace showed up a lot of other players and will be a handful for other teams if he plays forward , back or midfield . I think he will play all three places at different times from now on . Its great to see Hind and Parker as recruits who arent afraid to take the game on whoever they are playing . His short pass to Bruce who then kicked the winning goal from a set shot was fantastic given the pressure Hind was under when he got the ball . A lesser player would have just blazed away blindly at the goal but he kept his composure and did the perfect pass to a leading forward . I imagine Essendon wouldnt be happy that they didnt grab him when they had the chance as he was playing for their second team , hahaha.

Nicholas Hind sped into the senior side in Round 13 and never looked back.
The Clunes native averaged a goal per game and frequently displayed his blistering speed, lethal sidestep and evasive skills in every outing.
Incredibly versatile and able to play all over the ground, another pre-season under his belt will see Hind hit the ground running in 2020.

BEST GAME:
Hind sparked the Saints into gear against the Blues in Round 22, ending his afternoon with 13 disposals and two impressive goals to put the Saints within reach of their opposition.

This time last year…

…Nick Hind was a qualified plumber and was two seasons into his time at Essendon VFL.
The lightning-quick footballer had caught the eyes of recruiters the season before, but ultimately wasn’t picked up by a club.
It was the motivation he needed, however, to convince himself he could make it.
Then…
… the Saints liked what they saw, with the Clunes native recruited by the red, white and black with the 54th selection.
Hind showcased his speed and lethal sidestep in the VFL and was listed as an emergency six times before being flown over to China at the last possible minute as several Saints fell ill.

He ultimately didn’t make his debut overseas, but put on the tri-colours in Townsville where he played out the remainder of the year.
Hind booted 11 goals from his 11 games, including a three-goal haul against the Lions.
Now…
…Hind is poised to hit the ground running in Season 2020.
Wrist surgery in the off-season will see the dynamic Saint sidelined for several months, but it won’t keep him down for long.

Nicholas Hind could remedy the Saints’ need for speed up forward if he’s able to squeeze back into the starting 22.

The 25-year-old was omitted following St Kilda’s clash against Collingwood in Round 3, but has continued to provide his customary spark in the following scratch matches.

Hind’s cleanliness in dewy conditions and speedy set of wheels have held him in good stead across his short career, and could do so again should he return against Adelaide this week.
