he's been charged. how did the media manage to do that?

Well that’s contentious as his legal team have said that no charges have been laid.

That said, I think it is prudent to wait and see what comes out. The timing seems rather convenient for the media though, although I will concede that this might be purely coincidental.

Well we saw the Aristotle Pickett criteria which is what I was replying to.

Absolutely laughable.
well there are a myriad of ways we can measure the worth of a person.. The bloke obviously does well on the fiscal approach that you put so much value on = i expect the more he acts like a dickhead the better he will do with some sponsors. There may be one or two metrics he may wish he'd paid more attention one day but too busy counting his coin now and impressing the likes of you :)

Where to begin with the nonsense above…

For starters, I was basing my response on a set of criteria thrown out by another poster. And then you weighed in with the whole win/loss thing so I used that criteria. You are the one that went off on a tangent but if you actually read the two posts I replied to then I am looking at these comments from a tennis lens only.

The rest of your post above is an irrelevance but if you want to go down that slippery slope then that is on you. I am happy to leave the character assassinations to poor, simple fools like you, hiding in mummy’s basement, firing from the cheap seats. I will reserve my judgement until due process is carried out. I will say that I admire Kyrgios as much for his charity work and the stuff that people gloss over because it doesn’t suit their anti-Kyrgios agenda. The guy literally drove his car around Canberra delivering food to strangers during Covid. The guy was responsible for millions of dollars in relief going to bushfire victims. These things overshadow the shithousery on court and by a wide margin. As to the allegations currently against him, well he has his right to his day in court.

Got it?

He gets a lot of appearance money because non-tennis fans think it's funny to be disrepectful to players and umpires.

Yes he has his flaws, we all do.

How much money did you raise for bushfire victims? How many meals did you deliver to strangers during Covid?

He’s a prat on court but he’s not irredeemable. He does much more good than bad. He is not a loser.

I can''t cop his disrepect. What he said to Warinka was a disgrace. The way he talks to umpires is too much.
McEnroe just had a few outbursts now and then, Kyrgios doesn't ever shut up.
The underarm serve is close to cheating as well.

Agree with most of this. Don’t agree with the last sentence though. It’s no more cheating that it is when the receiver stands twenty feet behind the baseline.

It’s in the rules mate. You want to receive the serve from the third row then you open yourself up to this tactic. I like it as a surprise tactic.
Ok leave that one out and look at his other body of work.
I think he's an incredible player but he's a selfish tool.
He probably has depressrion but he should do something about it.
If he won't have a coach, he probably won't see a psychologist either.

He used to date Tomljanovic, not sure what happened there
She or someone else caught him leaving Priscilla Hon's hotel room during Wimby or the US I think it was. Ajla showed maturity being able to put that behind her for the sake of the Fed Cup team

i never mentioned the court case. where'd you pull that from?. I thought he was an a-hole before that. happy to wait for his day in court there and hopefully he wont prove to be a total campaigner.

Winning what? A match? A tournament? A GS? Winning at marbles? Pretty much a bull**** comment that is open to anyone's interpretation, but feel free to be flexible, you ****head.
you seem upset. most stable people would realise we are looking for a slam win. not just the odd QF and doubles. Tennis players who do that are a dime a dozen :)

I guess my point is that I refuse to join in the pile on.

Absolute prick on the court but does plenty for those in need off it. I’m happy to take the good with the bad. For now.

But if the player is happy with that, as Kyrgios appears to be then who are any of us to call him a loser?

By which standards is he being judged, yours or his?

i dont see it as a pile on. He's polarised people for 10 years - its been consistent - no pile on. The issues seem to be two fold. 1. People who can and can't stomach his on court bullshit.and 2. People who want to make out that he is more than a second tier 40-100 player with a pumped up profile due to his behaviour - and those who let the results speak for themselves.

someone else called him a loser. i referred to him as an a-hole and someone without an elite tennis record ie - major titles. he's no rookie anymore. Plenty of 10 year players with a trophy cupboard just like Nicks (minor trophys from the tour and a few last 8s in majors..

If you genuinely think that there are 40 better players than Kyrgios (at his best) then with respect, you know nothing about tennis.

His record against players in the top 10 stacks up against anybody’s. That is what his supporters hang their hats on, the fact that he can compete with any of the top guys when he wants to. His talent is extraordinary.

So are we still claiming he was charged even though his lawyers said he hasn’t officially been charged yet?

He has God tier physical tools though
