Re: Nick Malcheski- ACL

Thanks to all the people who are being supportive and who understand how shattering this is, especially for a young gun who would have played a HUGE role this season. I love Eski, and this is just about the worst news I could have gotten.

:(

Anyone who gets some kind of joy from this, is nothing more than gutter scum.

Re: Nick Malcheski- ACL

Big loss for the Swans. Saw how big it was with Kennelly out last year, Malceski filled that role a fair bit. Marty Matiner lessens the blow a bit but still a big loss. Shocking news for a really good player

Re: Nick Malcheski- ACL

Can someone tell me how long Malceski will be out in a best case scenario situation? What is the fastest people realistically can come back for a ACL injury?

How long will the athlete be out of action?
  • This largely depends on your surgeon or physiotherapists approach to rehabilitation. Some therapists advocate an accelerated rehabilitation programme returning the athlete to full competition within 5 months, others prefer a 9 month rehabilitation period

Re: Nick Malcheski- ACL

I am a Hawthorn supporter and cannot believe the disgraceful comments coming from some of our supporters, and they wonder why they have been abused and ridiculed during the off-season.

Firstly, an absolute shame to see Malceski go down, with what looks to be a serious knee injury. He had a fantastic season last year and is a key for the Swans. Terrible news.

Secondly, fellow supporters, what exactly do we have to be arrogant about???

Today, although, just a NAB cup game, we showed absolutely NOTHING. Some young guys showed some good things BUT Clarkson continues to persist with a pathetic game plan. We had a forward line of talls, playing on an under 23 side and continued to use Tim Clarke as a hit up CHF.

Best of luck to the Swans for the remainder of the year and hopefully Malceski can come back strong.

To my supporters, you may need to think twice before posting the majority of the stuff you write, as most of the time it is just useless and pathetic ignorant dribble. Be arrogant when we start winning games, or even a premiership.

You're the first Hawks fan with some class I've seen on Big Footy in the past 6 months (there's obviously more but it's rare). What's the go with your fellow Hawks supporters and their arrogance and attitude - getting stuck into every club. Your team hasn't done much in past 15 years so when you start being a regular finalist, then come on here and brag about how good you are. Geez the Hawks wouldn't want to slide down the ladder in 08 al la Bullies 07 or you'll cop a caning from heaps of other clubs.

Re: Nick Malcheski- ACL

Lets hope the prognosis is a good one ..after watching the incident it looked pretty innoculous ..he tried to change directions and jammed it .

One of my favourite Swans players ..lets hope he is fine for round one .

I would say 8-10 weeks would be best case scenerio.

thanks brother... i have been on bigfooty for a while and barely post. BUT, the amount of useless and ignorant threads and information i have read from my fellow supporters make me sick. We have made one finals series in the past 6 or so years and boy did it show last year.

Yes we have some fantastic young players, but the majority of them we keep hearing about in Muston, tuck, ellis, dowler, thorp, renouf, bailey, kennedy just to name a few have not even played 10 games between them.

I've got a lot of mates who are Hawks fans and I've been hearing about how good the Beau's (Dowler & Muston) are going to be for 2 or 3 years. Have they had injuries or are my mates clueless?

I've only been on Big Footy for 3 months but I've noticed that Hawks and Blues fans in particular really seem to have an arrogant streak (and it's not really warranted given both sides form past 5 years).

Re: Nick Malcheski- ACL

Terrible news. Havent seen the footage
Dont like seeing a top young player get a bad injury like this.
Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Theres no bad footage. Just went to change direction, put his weight on it badly and pulled up sore. Just one of those unfortunate things

Re: Nick Malcheski- ACL

Absolute quality player, was almost a certainty for the DT this season. Wish the lad well in his recovery.

On the other hand, it'll be interesting to see how Sydney handle injury issues as they've been very lucky over the years
