So keen with this acquisition. Hopefully it'll pay off and we'll get the full three years with optimal performance.

If the rumours from a few weeks ago are true, and Nick has indeed bought a house up here, then perhaps he'll stick around after his contract is up and will coach the back line. Might get sent away to Southport too. Either way, welcome to the Gold Coast Football Club!

Excuse the intrusion.

Brilliant get for you boys, I go down and watch Gold Coast games occasionally (first last season was Swans/Gold Coast but had seem games previous years), definitely going to go down and watch some more. Great player, great leader, great kick and comes across as a great bloke. Certainly will improve the team in the immediate future and think he'll be a huge part of your push for finals next season! Whoever the new Gold Coast coach is should be stoked to have him apart of the list! He was one of the Swans best last season so certainly not slowing down yet.

Well done, guys! Would have loved him at Melbourne. Shame he didn't want to come down here in the end (from what I understand?). One of my favorite players. And that beard? EPIC! haha. :) all the best, hope he does well!

How about some background info so everyone gets to know the guy a bit better?
  • Grew up in Melbourne and is of Macedonian heritage.
  • Played his junior footy with the Eastern Rangers.
  • Was drafted by Sydney with the 64th pick in the 2002 AFL Draft.
  • Debuted for the Swans in 2005 and kicked a goal with his first kick.
  • Has had 3 ACL injuries throughout his career. The latest was treated by LARS surgery in 2011.
  • Got married to Laura (from WA) during the 2011 off season.
  • Kicked the winning goal for the Swans in the 2012 AFL Grand Final.
  • They welcomed their first born Harrison to the world in early 2013.
  • Had his best season in 2014 when he was named an All-Australian for the first time and played all 25 games for the Swans.
  • They are a pretty good looking couple and won't have any trouble fitting in on the Gold Coast:

Massive!!

Great player. Great (inspirational) leader.

Will stiffen up / harden up the back line and will instil / demand defensive & team discipline.

Great kick, gut runner and rarely beaten 1 on 1.

Welcome to the GC Nick Malceski. Hope he stays healthy over the next 3 years, although has been very durable since coming back from the last layoff in 2011.

Huge!!!
