Sorry, but that is complete bollocks - Harley became captain in 2007 not before.

Sorry, I meant before the success in 2007. You will remember we got off to a bad start (as Collingwood have this year) and I distinctly remember opposition supporters labeling Harley as the worst captain in the league.

My mate (who goes for the hawks mind you) is still claiming Harley as the worst captain ever. He thinks he knows a lot about footy, but clearly he knows only little.

Maxwell is a spud & will always be a spud. Collingwood naming him captain will almost go down as the worst decision made this year (closely, atm, followed by all the clubs that passed on Daniel Rich)

I think with the gold coast coming in in 2011 a lot of clubs were picking what they needed... one and two were a given... freo and ports picks are very questionable especially because they over looked Rich, Essendon needed a backman especially with Fletcher about to pack it in and Mal finishing up for the 2nd time... and Carlton already have an envious amount of midfield depth that we choose a FP/mid in the mould of rioli as we were very fev concious.

But then again does it surprise anyone that Freo stuffed it up so bad?

While I also think Maxwell is a very average footballer who likes to snipe I can not really blame him for flinching when mooney shaped to throw a punch. Flinching is instinct and anyone will do it automatically as the brain decides to get out of the way.
