Did anyone else see the big, tough, brave Collingwood captain cower like a little girl when Cameron Mooney challenged him after he took down Steven Johnson behind play?

Cameron feigned a punch and Maxwell shit himself (quite possibly, literally).

One of the highlights of the night. :D

As per usual the toughest thing he did was a cheap shot behind play and I enjoyed his miserable attempt to spoil on little Gaz.

Good to see the Moonman get some aggro back.

Have to admit that Maxwell hs a very punchable face.

I'd love to know what the tough St.Joey's boys he played school footy with really think about the way he plays his football.

It's still hard to believe that a guy rejected by two clubs (including our own) and seen as barely best 22 for his team can be made captain, especially of a club with as rich a history as Collingwood.

We've had periods where we've lacked leadership but never have we had to resort to a player so lacking in ability (and one who is so cheap).

But!.... But!.... But!.... Don't you remember that tackle in the 2007 Prelim?!

:D

That is superb.

I don't see why people give him so much crap...

I think he's just a good honest footballer who gets the best out of his limited footballing abilities...

I think similiar to Max a lot of his better qualities can't be measured in kicks/handballs/goals e.t.c. but more the intangibles that he provides...

Twas funny when he sh*t himself over Cam's "punch" though....

The only feasible explanation is he is the Vandenburg factor, a tough guy caretaker - but Maxwell himself is young and you just don't give club captaincy to a kid unless he is the real deal and its gonna be for a while. I mean kid by relative age and experience compared to your normal captain.

watch him shoulder hawkins from behind when heath shaw gets reported. such a tough guy..

It was an elbow. Would expect nothing else from such a courageous player.

Bucks must cringe when he sees that clown running around in his jumper and as his replacement as captain.

fair points regarding the comparison except i dont think rooke would back down to anyone and only target those he knows wont retaliate.

The list could be endless, but here's three excellent reasons:

1) He's a rubbish footballer

2) He's cheap

3) He's got a very, very punchable head.

He's not honest though, he's the king of the snipe and the cheap shot from behind.

He certainly does get the best out of himself, but that's not saying a great deal.

It's a decent comparison, although Max is legitimately tough and his best is light years ahead of Maxwell's.

I noticed that.
He's just a cheap, wannabe thug who knows he can't contribute with his skills so tries to do it through his physicality, which is horribly overrated.

It's a fair comparison, but although Richie was very limited, he was twice the football Maxwell is.

Maxwell himself is young and you just don't give club captaincy to a kid unless he is the real deal and its gonna be for a while.

You do if you've just lost the only two leaders your club has had since Tony Shaw retired.

Scott Pendlebury may be a skirt, but he'd have been a far better option for the long term.

I havent been on BF all day.
Are the new mods over the top or is exhale just a shit troll and no magpie guys have taken the bait?

I don't rate maxwell at all. Wouldn't make our team full stop, but gee mate, you have worked your butt off trying to troll

While I don't disagree, there were many people that said the same of Harley before 2007.
Sorry, but that is complete bollocks - Harley became captain in 2007 not before.

Steven King was sometimes pilloried as captain, fair enough too. He spent too much time on the injury list and didn't really impose himself when the flag needed flying. In 2006 and earlier, it was usually up to Chapman and Harley to articulate the Geelong team's reaction to football matters.
