If there are still doubters on Nick Maxwell's ability to lead his team at crucial stages in a game, you seriously have rocks in your head.

He felt the game was slipping, and stood up when needed.

Two crucial moments in the last quarter:

1/ Sprinting back to prevent the Riewoldt goal

2/ Great mark on CHB, you could just see the determination on his face, inspirational stuff.

Maxwell admitted today that the Saints were the better team on the day, and if it went into extra-time, they probably would have won.

But I'm equally positive after seeing our boys fight to the death, they didn't give up, and because of that, we have another chance next week.

He was astounding, from start to finish, and that mark he took over Gilbert, that lead to the Cloke goal that put us in front, will be the stuff of legend if we can salute next week.

He is our captain, a true leader of men, and that can never be disputed.
