nick riewoldt- 298 games, 648 goals. 6 x best and fairest. 5 x all australian.

adam goodes- 372 games, 464 goals. 2 x brownlow. 2 x premiership player. 3 x best and fairest. 4 x all australian.

i would go nick riewoldt in a close one. one of the best CHF of all time (best this century) in my opinion. although do the 2 brownlows and premierships tip the scales in adam goodes favor?

Tough call. Goodes has achieved what few in football have. But Riewoldt IMO is the best CHF since Carey. If the Saints had have snuck in a couple of wins from their GF's he'd be viewed in such a different light I reckon.

Goodes has both the individual and team awards that set him aside

Roo is a 5 x All Australian, 6 x B&F winner and MVP winner. Not sure if Goodes has him nailed on the individual awards.

As for team awards, I don't rate individuals according to their teammates achievements. Two kicks different in either of StKilda's GF's would tell a different tale if judging on this basis and I think two kicks is a poor way to rate a career.

Goodes has those two brownlows helping his individual tally.

Riewoldt was a great centre half forward no doubt. Better than jonno brown, not quite tredrea, But Goodes' versatility really set him apart. He did it all

When was the last time a CHF won the Brownlow? Not a great point of differentiation IMO.

On the flip side, Roo has an MVP, more All Australians and more B&F's. Some rate these more highly than the Brownlow these days given some of the results it dishes up.

My first reaction was Roo on him being one of the best CHF of the last 20 years. But then I thought about Goodes career (if you take out the last 1-2 years when he possibly went on too long) and it was incredible. He was just so flexible in playing in different positions. I find this a tough poll to pick in

Goodes, I just think his best seasons where better.
Compareing there careers roo may have put in more great seasons more consistently, well maybe, Goodes was also ultra consistent.

Goodes. Incredible footballer. Longevity, talent and his best footy are all better than Roo. His ability to turn games of footy in his prime were second to none. Rucked, played in the guts, played forward and back, literally did it all. Once in a generation footballer in terms of his unique versatility and how good he is anywhere and if he'd played his career at CHF would have kicked 700-850 goals. That gets him my vote without having to think about it.
