I am hoping Stevo can return to form. After watching a few games replayed of last year, it did seem that he was not finding the ball as much. But maybe with a better midfield mix he will not get as tagged and will be free to win the ball. He still has the skills and I hope he can get his legs up to the level that is required in the midfield. Perhaps he will drift a lot into the forward line and replace Lappin as that small goal sneak. Certainly in all interviews I have seen it seems Stevo has the fire in the belly. Goodluck sunshine!

pre injury Stevens was on fire ..you obviously missed a few games

Blue guns Must have watched the Geelong game over and over......he was almost BOG vs Tiges in round 1, and very good vs Dons in round 3 prior to injury..........not to mention best player throughout the NAB cup incl BOG in the final vs Lions.:thumbsu:

No doubt that Stevo will want to have a big year...for hi ssake, the cubs sake and our sake. He is a loved figure at the club, and I'm sure he has/will let noiting stop him to getting back to the player he was from the NAB Cup, till Rnd.3 last year.

Whaaaaaaaat?

Before Stevo announced his season-ending injury he was on fire and hotter than Ana Ivanovic in a thong drinking Tobasco sauce!

He singlehandedly beat Richmond, then got >half a dozen clearances the next two weeks. He was looking in AWESOME form.

I think Stevo, health-permitting, will be huge this year. Get on board him for Dream Team purposes. He's gonna get a ton of ball.

He was in good form, but that would be hot:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Thought he was in Career best form before the injury. Really thought he was the link to success at Bluesland...

I can't wait to see what the playmakers Judd and Nick can do... I honestly think if they are fit, you will breeze into the eight. You need playmakers.......you've lost Lappin and big red who were some of the best. And Nick Stevens is a playmaker.

Nick Stevens won't be same player he aws before he got that neck injury. And with all the focus on Judd becoming captain, poor old stevens must be out of favour at carlton,so i reckon we have seen the best of nick stevens.

Why is that?
The only think that Nick will need to get over is the mental thing, that being the first few contested ball situations he is involved in in 2008.

I've been to a few training sessions this pre-season, and his track work has been first class. I expect Nick to have a pretty big year this year.

Nick stevens is a star, end of story.
I rate him as our best player over the last couple of seasons.
Can't wait to have him back with Judd, Murphy, scotland,gibbs,carrazzo,simpson,walker......mouth is watering ....in a non gay way:thumbsu:

I won't be 100% sure of where he's at with his game until i see him lay a bone crunching tackle or dive head first into a clearance opportunity.

Only then will we know where his game is at because then we'll know how his confidence is.

His fitness to me isn't the issue, his confidence to make hard bodily contact is.
