The article lists every senior club he's played for or coached. We haven't been treated harshly in any way. Don't go looking for conspiracies that aren't there. It diminishes our argument when we do actually have cause to be aggrieved.

Agree PowerKat irrespective of this particular case, domestic violence - verbal or physical - is a despicable act that should not be condoned or tolerated.

I think it was just taken as a given that everyone think's what he's accused of is the act of a cowardly thug, so that part of it didn't need explicit spelling out.

People can be bothered to 'spell out' trivial issues with article content, but not what they think of the alleged offence - sorry my point stands - maybe people don't express that they think it is the act of a cowardly thug, because they never bothered to even think that, or to give it more than a passing thought. Your not running OT. This thread is about Nick Stevens allegedly being a low down cowardly individual who assaults women. The fact that the Advertiser chose to highlight his connection with Port in their headline shows that they believe what he is alleged to have done is despicable act distasteful to most people.

I remember arguing with a Cow supporter on BigFooty when Nathan Bock was charged with assaulting his girlfriend that no level of violence by men against women was acceptable. The Cow supporter argued that a certain level of violence was acceptable and that maybe his girlfriend deserved it. I stopped arguing when it was pointed out to me that the person I was arguing with was female.

Yep, fair enough, and the Nathan Bock example shows how 'accepted' this type of behaviour currently is, hence why I bother to call it out

Wondering whether anyone can help me out so I can win a bet with a West Adelaide / Crows supporter.

He was startled when I said that Nick Stevens played a few games for West Adelaide in the SANFL before he was picked on debut for Port in the AFL, never to return to the lower level. He swears he knows every Bloods player and could not recall Stevens ever playing for them.

I could not find a link or article to prove myself and I wondered whether people on this board have any evidence I can cut and paste and show my West Adelaide / Crows supporter friend. Many thanks.

Definitely played. Coach talked him up at the time too saying something along the lines of "you're too good for this league".

Pretty sure he played 4 games for West in 1998... but can't find anything online to confirm this.

But if you're really keen, you could get out West's 1998 Annual Report from the Mitchell Library at the State Library. They've got all the SANFL ARs going back to 1907 (at least.) That'll have the player details you need.

Though it might be easier to just email the club. Mark Beswick is the Club Historian...
