Listening to the news on the radio I heard Nick Stone from the weagles was drug tested and came up positive for "speed"... imagine how bad he would have been without chemical assistance..would have to be one of the worst players I have seen play AFL.

I don't know why this stuff is allowed to become public.

Speed, acid, coke & grass arn't performance enhancing, they are performance inhibiting. I can understand the club being pissed off but you arn't cheating taking this stuff.

If it wasn't made public then no one would know & they wouldn't be setting a bad example for all the kiddies.

You can't sit at home & have a quiet "cone" but you can go out to a nightclub till the wee hours & get fall down pissed.

Just for clarification, Nick Stone was drug tested after playing for Claremont (Westar Club) and came up positive - not for the Eagles (because he couldn't ever get a game with us) - the news only became public to the AFL due to the fact he's still a listed player for the Eagles - but it's painfully obvious he'll be delisted.

Nice comment Drakey

Can I just add a couple of points :

1) Marijuana is common in footy these days. Its is smoked by alot of footballers, especially in "mad-Monday' type situations. I distinctly remember it being repoprted in the media that the Fitzroy players passed around the Dutchy in the dressing rooms after their last game in '96.

2) At the Winter Olympics in 1998 a Canadian Snowboarder was tested positive for Marijuana but then won his appeal when it was proved conclusively that Marijuana is not a performance enhancing drug.

3) Recreational drug use is rife in Rugby League, with ecstacy being a particular problem.

cheers

Drakey

Cant even fall down pissed these days

Just ask Winnie Abraham, Brad Ottens and Martin Pike (and the WC player - forget his name - who got into the tiss with the cabbie!!)

Cheers
