That was especially bad.
But it's even the little things. When he wins a good ball inside and breaks the pack, if he can't get on his left and can't find an option up the ground he is effectively useless. Even when he does nice things he burns it by not having any other strings to his bow aside from his left foot. He is a fundamentally limited footballer in his raw skillset, and not a very good one otherwise in terms of footy smarts to make up for it.
Or to put it simply: he's crap.
He wasnt the only one tonight

No, he isn't. He's not a scapegoat in any sense, but his game tonight was just a continuation of a number of terribly games he has played for years. And long term he is costing a spot of someone who may eventually be a match winner in games like these. He wasnt the only one tonight
Beat me to it - but yeh he was caught out more than once toniteHill can also kick on his right. Doesn't use it often, but does it when he needs to. Suban can't do a thing on his right. Instead he just handballs or pretends he's playing rugby.
right now who's place that is available is he taking?
RTB just alluded to this dropped mark / turnover (without mentioning his name) and to me it looks like Suban is done for a good while.Yep, the dropped mark inside attacking 50 by Suban when we were in front that led to a North goal was the turning point. Should be dropped IMO.
Why would you even put Hill in this conversation? Hill would be top 3 in our fairest and best so far this year.No he wasn't, but he's in his 6th year and supposed to be in his prime. You might say the same thing about Hill, but Hill has a lot more credits in the bank than Subes, plus Hill can be a matchwinner in a single quarter of footy. Subes can't [well, he's yet to reach that level]

]Just in case someone comes back with an argument that Hill needs to rip it up most weeks [and they were drafted the same year]. I personally think he's light years ahead of Subes.
But it has a bit to do with tonights game and he was well below his standards [I know, he wasn't alone]
I don't think Suban should have received a 3 year contract extension. He is only an ok player and I don't really rate him highly as a mid. Maybe I'm just frustrated after tonight's game and I know he wasn't the only one but he always just seems to get caught with the ball

I felt a bit for Hill tonight because he copped a ball straight to the face in the first 5 minutes which clearly rattled his cage. He didn't touch the ball for about 20 minutes after that. But once he got over it he was decent enough.
I expect him to bounce back next week, just unlucky.

OMG it's like you want him to fail.Choose anyone on our list.

thought today was a watershed moment for him, seemed like if he can just link his skills now and get some form, he's cherry ripe to start his reign, give him 5-8 more games then go back to this thread, the pieces will eventually fit
