QLD Captain NICK THE PIE MAN was left furious after his side was comfortably beaten by the Big V by 7 wickets in their one day encounter today.

It was QLD's second succesive lose and a defeat that had the captain scratching his head.

"I don't know what to say really. The hunger, commitment and passion that we had earlier in the season has deserted us."

He went on further to ask his bowlers for more, "We were defending a big total of 300 and they achieved that with 7 wickets in hand. To be frank, its not good enough, especially considering we are aiming for the double this season. The bowlers' morale looked down and their performace showed that. I really needed more from my Vice Captain clucas91 who failed to take a wicket."

Nick also criticised his own performance. "I made 42, Its ok. Its nothing special. But im sick of throwing away my wicket in the 30's and 40's. I do it way too often and its something DIPPER tried to teach me not to do last year. I guess I forgot his lessons."

clucas91 reacts to NICK THE PIE MAN criticism.

clucas91 has come out with guns blazing in the defence of his image. clucas91 was very upset by comments made by his captain and apparent close friend NICK THE PIE MAN. "I was very disappointed by the comments NICK made. I realise my performance was below standard, but with a side like Queensland whom are challenging for major honours, only encouraging words will boost the side, we need to be told how great we are, not how bad we are".

clucas91 made a stinging report of his own. "If NICK wants to criticise the side, then maybe he should get his own head out of the clouds and turn up to training once in a while. He seems to be spending too much time at the pub and not enough time at training and team bonding sessions." clucas91's allegations came as quite a shock to the cricketing community, whom most thought NICK THE PIE MAN as a model cricketer. "He has a terrible drinking problem, as a friend, I tried to help him through it, but when under the influence of alcohol he often becomes very physical and a danger to himself and others."

Here here... Nick we know you are from the allies, but we don't want that kind of crap anywhere near our club. Just take it as it is and lets not be pansies about this.

Nick The Pie Man baffled by
allegations
By Mike Coleman

QLD captain Nick The Pie Man has been shocked by allegations by his own vice-captain that he is a alcoholic that fails to attend training and team bonding sessions.

"I couldn't beliefe it. I officially deny the allegations and considering defamation charges against clucas91"

Clucas91's comments was backed up by the other QLD vice-captain Joshhem.

Nick said before training at the 'gabba today, "I was shocked by Joshhem's comments and also a bit hurt. I left a Premiership side in the Allies to take over a wooden spoon side in QLD that was badly in debt. I think I have done a great job so far as the ladder reflects, and I personally think he is being ungrateful.

No other clubs have yet to make a comment on these allegations.

NICK THE PIE MAN seen leaving Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

Close media sources have spotted Queensland captain NICK THE PIE MAN leaving an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting last night. He was wearing a heavy coat and dark sunglasses, used in a failed attempt to remain 'anonymous'.

NICK is reported to be suffering from the second stage of alcoholism, denial. NICK THE PIE MAN's comments earlier today would indicate that this is the case.

RUMOURS LINK TWO MATES JOINING UP AGAIN

By Chief Cricket Writer Tony Grieg

Stories are abounding in the cricket world today that Allies champion fast bowler DIPPER has been in talkes with Queensland captain NICK THE PIE MAN with a view to a move up north next season that would solve the Queensland strike bowling problems & allow the big pommy paceman a chance to start afresh away from the constant sopa opera that is Allies cricket.

It's no secret that DIPPER has grown frustrated at the poor showing of the Allies this season & the way his own captaincy aspirations have been thwarted by the present regime.

When quizzed about his plans for next season DIPPER was non commital but did have this to say 'I can't comment on any speculation at the moment but it's no secret that NICK is my best mate in cricket & despite a falling out earlier in the season when I felt let down at his leaving the club I now realise that he probably made the right decision. We get on great again now & for the people up there to start getting on his back just amazes me, he's turned that club around. As for a drinking problem, the only problem he's got with the grog is that he can't get enough of it & in my book that's no bad thing.'

There's no doubt that DIPPER would walk into the present Queensland attack & strengthen it massively, despite criticism in some quarters at the start of the season that due to age he was on the down hill slope he's taken 32 wickets in 6 games & is looking every inch the champion he's always been.

The waters are furthur mudied by other stories that DIPPER might not be actually joining NICK at Queensland but that they are set to start another franchise to break the monopoly of the estabilished clubs, with their contacts in the game there's no doubt that the two of the would have no trouble recruiting players & sponsors. There only problem would be getting a social club big enough & with enough beer taps to keep everyone happy.

DIPPER finished with some words of advice for his friend 'He shouldn't take any sh*t from the blokes up there, he's the only one with a Premiership medal & he's the one who brings the sponsors in that pay their wages. He should stick to his guns & I reckon Clucas could do with a spell int eh seconds, as for his batting form he'll turn it around he's a dead set champion & as I've said before he's got more talent than any batsman that I've ever palyed with & that includes Masey. As for me I'm still fully behind this club trying to win back to back championships but the leadership is lacking a little at the moment as for next season we'll have to wait & see.........'
