I think eventually a Rioli or Stengle needs to take Edwards minutes in the middle. One thing that does get underplayed is Edwards can win clearances and spread or deliver when he does. Up and running he's a great point of difference for the coaches, at his worst he's like a cardboard cut out if cardboard cutouts could turn the pill over.

Sheds had a shocking game and has been below average all year, Time for him to go to VFL to gain some form - Team has been carrying him all year

He missed like 5-6 weeks didn't he?

He missed five ... all the more reason he should go back.
I fail to see the point here, are you saying he is off the boil through missing games??? All the more reason he goes back to the Twos and plays a standout game.
You will disagree, but Titch has been the archetypal Tigers player who could have been a helluva lot better if regular AFL standards had applied as opposed to continually being gifted games. If it's ok for premiership stars to get drop it's ok for a mediocre ol' Richmond player to be axed occasionally for poor form. But no he'll coast through to 250 games without a finals win or impacting a final.
Sending a bloke back to the Twos is as much about regaining the hunger as it is about regaining form and that is what Titch is lacking right now - well, he's lacking both.
It's disgusting seeing repeated calls for Grigg to be moved on, or Lloyd to be dropped, when a bloke who has offered considerably less than either in recent wees coasts along to the detriment of the team.
I think Hardwick and co have a fear that like Vickery, they'll drop a guy like Edwards and he'll go back to the Twos and put in a sub-par effort and have to keep him there for longer than a week or two, not realising playing a bloke so hopelessly out of form hurts us.

My point was that the post I quoted said he'd been average all year. He hasn't played all year.

He had a shocker against Carlton. But other than that, he's been good enough to warrant a game.

Who takes his spot?

Right now, you'd do a better job.
I hear you were a handy flanker.
Here's a couple who come to mind ... it does not have to be like for like when you have three of the same blokes in Butler, Castagna and Rioli in there.

Anthony Miles

38 disposals, nine clearances, six marks, one goal.

Another dominant performance in the midfield. Continues his great form in the VFL.

Jacob Townsend

28 disposals, eight marks, five clearances, one goal.

Had a quiet first half. Had only seven disposals up to half time, so for him to finish with 28 was pleasing to see. Was rewarded with a goal and laid some good tackles which was also pleasing.

Even these two ..... Hunt could play that hassling, pressure role up forward ...

aylor Hunt

24 disposals, four marks, two clearances, two goals.

Was really good today, played the majority of the game on the wing and was rewarded with some good goals. Also ran through the midfield.

Nathan Broad

19 disposals, seven marks, one tackle.

Starting to get a bit of consistency in his game now. Went forward and took a few good marks and was solid down back.

Any of therm would be doing a whole lot better than Titch and get their hands on the ball.

Why does Grigger finish consistently finish top five or six in the league best and fairest and consistently out-poll Titch in the Brownlow?
If he was such a great player he's be a regular top three in the club b&f but has all of three top 10 finishes.
The epitome of overrated!

you seriously going to argue grigg brownlow votes? wont take you long to add them up

grigg does well in the bf cause he is the coaches boyfriend. Vlastuin came 6th and cant get a game bf overrated

Funny stuff, Edwards has nine career Brownlow votes.
Grigg got 11 in one year in 2012. Grigg has 18 - double your mate Titch.
Next comparison. Themore comparisons you make the more you get to see how poor this guy is!

Yeah best and fairest is overrated .. well until your mate Edwards actually gets close and you'd be telling everyone about it.
More footballers put sock on their club award than they do the Brownlow!
