Nickname for the Aussie Squad

Ther have been a few suggestion that the team should have a nickname in aussie tradition. Are there any suggestions
My suggestion would be the swagies or something like that.

And incidentally the blue strip with green and gold V is the best football shirt I have ever seen. If they ever wanted to change the flag from the British Royal Navy Reserve one then a blue flag, the southern cross and some green and gold trim would go well.

How about the Wombats, I don't know of any Aussie team ever adopting that name & I don't know why, they are my fav Aussie animal.

Actually, I'm leaning more and more towards the Taipans.

Think about it. There are no snakes in Ireland and we have the world's deadliest snake here.

When we win the headline reads "Snakes overrun Ireland" - that should scare the shit out of them.

When Ireland win - they can use that whole St Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland thing.

In fact, if the Irish call themselves the Saints, you have that whole Jihad thing happening. Nothing like a holy war to build a bit of friendly rivalry.

I like the sound of the Wombats too but you could also have the Emus since they're on our coat of arms and there are not many (if any) teams called the Emus, or many even the Dingos!
