Only saw the 2nd half of the TAC final & in my opinion Gayfer was easily the stand-out performer for the losing side,

Would he still be available when our first pick comes around though ??
Hopefully he is. He is not rated as a top 10 pick unless he puts in a ripper performance during the draft camp starting on wednesday

From the club's perspective, it depends on where they see Bassett fitting in. If he's in front of Smart then the Nude Nut should be asked to hang 'em up.

Smart was OK this year providing run off the half back line.
But defensively he was pretty ordinary (actually negating his direct opponent). Hard to imagine he will be any different next year.

Remember his testimonial match? His form prior to that was crap and he started on the bench. I got the feeling he would have been dropped if it wasn't for the fact that it was his testimonial.

Yes, his experience could be invaluable to a newbie and their learning curve, but is there anything they couldn't get from being along side Baked Bean Head or listening to Curran?

So, after all that, will he play on? I would say no he shouldn't, but think he will.

I can't see more than Parker and maybe Hentschel cracking it as regulars next year. Bock doesn't look up to it to me, and neither does Rutten.

They obviously like a bit of Power Choking down at the Rosemont:D :D :D

Smart to play on but like what has already been said in a lesser role of the bench helping develope the kids.................I guess he could go into semi-retirement;)

Can someone tell me a bit about this Gayfer????Where he is from, what he plays like;)

Exactly my thoughts, well said.

It was reported that Smarty will make a decision within 2 days.

The odds are that he will continue for another year.

I liked it better when the odds said Smarty would call it quits and Bicks would go on:(

Please Nige, retire.

Every time he gets the ball, all that happens these days is it gets kicked very high and to the forward's disdvantage.

Doesn't have the pace he used to have, doesn't do his defensive job as well, and doesn't have asmuch penetration carrying or kicking the ball.

If Bicks is retiring, Smart definitely should. Form is nowhere near as good.

If we do happen to get Holland, then wouldn't Smarty be a bit of a surplus to our needs??????

To some degree, yes. Smarty often gets the job on the big boys and Holland would certainly get those if he became a Crow.

Thats what I was thinking. If we get Holland and Smart plays on, then Smarty would be moved to HBF and we have a few of those emerging. I would rather play the likes of Hentschel, Massie and possibly Schuback than Smart.

I just think he should retire:(
