One of the best things about covid is that it has disproven a lot of stupid claims that ' X won't work because....'
I was quite fond of a traditional day grand final but the night games the last two years have been better, it's that simple.

Once they've sorted the grand final timeslot out, they can move onto transitioning from the current farce to a proper 17-5 fixture since covid also proved surprise surprise you can actually schedule games on a rolling basis throughout the year without much fuss

I thought the gabba grand final was fine, it just looks better at night and is more social

It wasn't the location, it was waiting around all day for it, festivities were crap due to that

Having a party was crap because you either start it way later or have a huge gap between the game


It worked this time because we had to actually get to the game, could go to the Casino before it and have a few drinks etc

Twilight is the only way to go otherwise it finishes too late to really party for the competing teams.

Fortunately for WA, it the future we will get the best of both worlds and have a 5pm GF in the dark on TV, with the for a late Saturday night BBQ & festivities.
