Love the feel of the switch 2, it does feel a fair bit more premium than the original. You’d expect it for that price but when I put them side by side it’s definitely an upgrade.
Wasn’t as hyped as I was for the original all those years ago because of the huge jump it took from the Gameboy/Wii U, but no doubt this will break records.

Nintendo Switch 2 Screen Punctures Ruin Launch Day for Fans Due to Store Receipts Stapled Into Console's Box - IGN
Nintendo Switch 2 owners are opening consoles with punctured screens due to store receipts being stapled into the front of the console's box.
Jesus. Why on earth would you pack it screen up so close to the top of the package? But even more puzzling wtf staple it when good oll sticky tape will do. A lot of people want their boxes in A1 condition and would have been pissed off by the holes if if it didn't **** free screen.
All around it’s a cool big of tech and I’m happy with my purchase.
Random thoughts.

Pokémon Scarlett: had to double check that I had the next gen patch. Holy shit, I feel sorry for the Switch 1 owners running this game. Also hideous compared to Zelda.
FZero 99 is fun.
Mario Kart: really cool. Havnt explored the open world much but I’ve done a few championships and knockout tours which are great. I’ve unlocked red Yoshi and the muscle car so I’m set.
Pro controller: crazy how much more enjoyable it is compared to joycons (which have their place). After my Elite series 2 I forgot how light other controllers are. Still a decent controller.
Doubt I’ll get much life out of the retro games but it’s good to have them there if I get the time to check them out fully.
Bonus points for my Xbox headset working with it with no dongle.

First nintendo ive bought since the Wii. so far fun. only got MK8, MKW, Mario Odyssey and Mario Wonder. played some wonder and its amazing. MKW is fun online knockout is great
Odyssey is a lot of fun, if you’ve played the Galaxy games on Wii, I’d say its closer in quality to Galaxy 2 than 1 (2 being the better one).

People gave GF way too much leeway on the performance of this game. They got protected by the easy "Switch is underpowered" out. They copped criticism, but nowhere near enough. It's a diabolically broken game.

Didnt play much on Wii. SNES is really the only nintendo console i played heaps. Wii was more for just friends/family games and was mostly the shit like Wii sports.
but looking at all the bangers on the Nintendo online sub they will let me relive some of my earliest game memories from the SNES as like a 5-6 year old

Played some MKW with the missus, it was a lot of fun. Great performer and I can tell the difference in fidelity and amount of effects. The water often looks superb especially.
Shoulda seen Mrs T2B's face when I explained code in a box and game cards though. She's always physical media preferred and couldn't believe what she was hearing haha

Have to say I'm not sold on the magnetic joy cons attached to the screen. Just feels like Mario Kart rage will be enough for them to snap off.
Excited to play some MKW tonight. Bought a Wii when Mario Kart Wii came out in 2008 which rekindled my interest after not owning anything since the Nintendo 64 in 1996/97. Mario Kart World can now take pride of place on the shelf with all the other versions. Figuratively of course, it's just a post it note with some letters and numbers on it...

Knockout tour is very addictive.
Just set mine up. The build quality is way better than I expected.
I have to say, the dock leaves much to be desired. The original was flimsy too.

Exactly what I was thinking as I was assembling it all last night. Console feels good, but the dock feels like something from Temu. Works fine of course, but very light and flimsy feeling.

That's what I mean, MonolithSoft has proven they can do it with their Xenoblade games. HAL Laboratory did a good Pokemon Snap game, Pokken was great and it was by Bandai Namco. Gamefreak did do a really good job with Legends Arceus but the main line games have had issues since at least X and Y.

I like the look of the all in one cases. There's an official Nintendo one that is $109 because of course it is and a couple of others. There is one at EB Games that kinda looks like you can detach the top section that just holds the screen and jocons but not sure.
