God i really, really wanted to get into Nioh 1 and 2. But they were just so damn hard lol.

Yep, started the thread more for fans of the series. But I already know I won’t be buying it myself lol, these games are way too hard. In fact, the only Souls-like game I will be happy to buy is Lies of P and that is only because the game is getting a difficulty patch soon to make the game much easier.

I really liked the first one. It was obviously "souls like" but with the loot system and ability to cheese content with magic made it more approachable. The second I didn't think was as good but IMO Team Ninja haven't done anything close to the quality of the first Nioh since.

I reckon I try Nioh 1 at least once every 6 months because it's free with PS+. Enjoy it, get to the first mini boss/boss(that thing inside the boat) and then crack it.
Loved Elden Ring, but only finished that and the DLC thanks to summons. Take them out and id be no chance

Ok, so i decided to give Nioh 2 one last crack. Watched a couple of youtube videos and am glad i did, i'm now sucked right in.
It throws a lot at you with the skills, Ki regeneration mid combat etc and all the funky names for things.
Have no idea what 90% of the things i pick up are though, apart from the obvious, i'll look for a wiki or something.
I like how it has missions, and a recommended level for each. Finished a couple of missions and beaten the bosses. Making me super keen for 3 now watching the trailer.

i loved 2, was heaps good at the time. only souls game i've ever finished lol i'm terrible at them in general. their next game Wo Long i bounced off of about a third of the way through, it was the same thing with just enough differences for them to say new game/series.
