I decided last week not to renew my membership for 2019. (and I'll be ceasing my involvement in the BF Player Sponsorship program)

I wasn't gonna bother telling people here whether I was gonna renew or not. But seeing as others have posted that they won't renew and reasons why...I figure I'd follow suit. Whilst the extra game (now 4) does hurt and played a part in the decision making...the decision is mainly based around pricing over the years and what the club is now charging it's members for 2019 with now 4 games in tassie.

I've already given my 2cents worth over the pricing issue and the club's obvious no ****s given policy...so I won't get into that again.

I can get on social media, twitter, facebook, Bigfooty etc with my displeasure over this. But I personally feel that the only way my voice will be heard is by not giving the club my money and adding to the already empty seat look that our members wing has at HOME games.

For those of you who are being critical on those who have chosen not to renew their memberships by claiming you're hurting the club. I ask where is your limit/breaking point? Do you continue to back the club finically when 4 tassie games become 5, 6 or 7? When the pricing of your membership continues to go up year after year?

As a collective there's no real right or wrong in this.

- If you're someone who is pro-tassie and is happy to renew their membership - that's fine
- If you're someone who is against-tassie and maybe pricing issues but still plans to renew membership - that's fine
- If you're someone who is against-tassie and pricing issues of memberships and will not renew - that's fine

I'm not gonna try to convince others to go a certain way...you gotta go with what you think is right.

I'll still be wearing the colours and going to the games but it'll be on a limited capacity......not that it hasn't already been like that :/

You gotta do what's right for you.

I could not but be a Member

The risk of losing Cat 2 potential GF ticket and possible Premiership is something I could not live with

20 years of travelling up and down highways, (a soul crushing Finals trip to Radelaide thrown in) will be worth it on that final siren

It’s something I just can’t give up now

My VISA expired (got a new card) but the Membership was emailing and mailing me to update my expiry date for the new card 2 months ago.

I never had it on Auto Renew, ever, since I took out my first membership in 1993 as an Adult.
Similar here. I just got my new Visa card that was replacing my Mastercard. On the letter it said make sure you update your automatic payments. Well I don't have any but lo and behold when I turned the page over it had Kangaroos FC Membership. I have never had it on Auto Renew either. Anyway I will make my payment on my new card in full but will make it at the time I am ready to make it.

And it seems like this Auto Renew option lives in bizarro world and does the complete opposite of how it should work. If someone opts out of Auto Renew they should always be out unless they opt back in. This has George Costanza written all over this.

No criticism from me.

I am disappointed with the club for misreading the lay of the land this year - they had a chance to give back to members this year and chose to push one more inch.

To your question - 4 games is my limit, one more game to Tassie and I’m out.

I’d prefer 3, font like 4 and draw the line at 5. I get the feeling that many people will walk from their membership on 5.

C’mon North - get it right!

It is just so North Melbourne that after years and years of the membership department and generally everyone administrative at the club doing a great job, but were let down by substandard performances on-field - that we finally having a cracking trade period setting ourselves up beautifully for some strong on-field results, the administration chooses this year to start stuffing things up.

4th game in Tassie :heavymultiply:
Auto renewal :heavymultiply:

Just my few cents worth but I auto renew because it means I only have to fork out $200 a month rather than $2000 at the start of the season better for the budget. Although I have just realised I would have paid half by the time the season starts anyway. I did however get rid of Box On this year as I think I have done my part on this front. Also changed to just home games so the price was about the same with the change of membership

Point is that Auto Renew should be with CONSENT

I get the angst, I haven't lived in Melbourne since 2005. 160 bux for an interstate membership is quite frankly ridiculous with 1 ticket to 1 game. Sure its subject to draw, I live in Brisbane, but surely if we play at the Gabba and at Metricon, throw in both games. Same for when I lived in Sydney, at least throw in SCG and that sh1thole out west, cause got knows parking the car costs more than entrance to the game in Sydney!

If the club knew about the fourth game, surely they would have organised away reserved seating much earlier. Called today and they still don't know what is going on. Prices increase and we get less benefits as members. When we lose one of Euge's men (arguably the best membership gun in the AFL) to Richmond, what do we expect? Poor management. I'll probably downgrade or wait when the season starts to see what away reserved seating the club can come up with.

Does anyone know how far away from Melbourne you have to live to get a country membership? Just realised I will be away on Holiday Round 2 when we sure to be at home and easter so miss good Friday, that leaves 5 home games. There is a country 5 game membership, I live other side of Geelong

Melbourne is now graded as an away venue so the whole of Victoria qualify for country memberships.

With our recruiting splurge out of the way, I was wondering whether we are upping the Tassie games to fund our off season activities?

So home General Admission is $220 for 11 games (+bring a friend to one game = 12 games) which equates to $18.33 per ticket .... and the flexipack is 175 for 10 games at $17.50 a ticket....

I have no doubt.

Everyone knows we have salary cap space on paper but we actually need the physical dollars to make these payments too.

Wonder what the masses think of this? Clearly we are trying to compete and are cutting our cloth to suit, I'm not saying the club got it right but I do understand their predicament.

When we land Kelly we may need to play six games a season in Tassie :p

Bit confused by the flexipack, says its meant to share, so you pass the ticket back for the next person to scan in?

Flexi as in one person can attend 10 games, or for example two people can attend 5 together and so forth....

Salary cap is almost entirely funded by the AFL standard distribution. It's other FD spending they need to come up with cash for.
