The thing about Carlton is they are shit. Shit across all levels of competition. Just consistently shit.

The whingers should be blaming the afl, we should have had a team in the first AFLW season and our history with Melbourne Uni was always going to result in us getting the cream of the crop.

No we developed most of them via Melb Uni so we got what was ours. These fly by nighters who were handed these players a few years ago without doing squat for womens footy can go an EAD.

Gowans was talking to a bloke next to me after the game and he was absolutely glowing about the girls, talking about how much they wanted it and that the hard work was paying off.

Also said "This is just a win, we can't get complacent, we need to keep working hard if we want to do it again."

After being very worried North Melbourne was being written out of the women’s team , I’m very happy with how the team was presented as our club;

- NMFC on the score board/ tv score
- big logo on the front and North Melbourne written on the back of the tops
- full theme song played after
- the team sang our theme song live - changed boys to girls
- the club was referred to as the North Melbourne TasmAnia Kangaroos , not the Tassie Kangaroos or similar

I thought there may have been a lot less “North Melbourne “

Also. **** Carlton as a club, couldn't wait to get off the ground after the match, couldn't even go over and thank their cheersquad who flew down for the game.

Meanwhile the North girls stood around taking photos and chatting for 10mins after the game before going into the rooms, but begged noone to leave because they wanted to come back out.

Went into the rooms kicked the boots off, packed some ice on muscles then came back out and chatted to fans for well over an hour on the oval.
